  1. Past hour
  2. That's a great description of him in action, Doohickie. I just hope everyone is patient with him as he continues to develop with the ups and downs that are likely to occur in the meantime. With the position this team is in, I think it's the perfect time for Lindy to stick with him as our main goalie for long enough to give him the chance to prove whether or not he could be the goalie we have needed for such a long time. Even now it is so fun watching his movements when trying to keep the puck out of the net, sometimes cat like, sometimes a little spastic looking, but always battling in any way he can to make the stop. He doesn't give up.
  3. Kotalik used to shelf backhands all the time. I don’t see the connection.
  4. If Josh Norris returns on Monday then I’m all in. The Sabres need to stop playing with my heart, or whatever is left of it
  5. If only there was someplace that had a lot of power generation and water and could also use an economic ‘shot in the arm’.
  6. Today
  7. Saw that Dhane goal while waiting for the Sabres game to start. What an incredible power move that was!
  8. Probably meant to but couldn’t find his way to the KBC. Forgot the directions.
  9. Given the condition of the OL and an expected sloppy playing surface we may see some personnel groupings today that would make George Halas proud.
  10. I am just a dumb concrete and steel guy, but all the smart folks with actual nuclear degrees tell me that the "next generation" of nuclear power (both the Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and true Gen IV reactors) are more efficient in terms of how much of the heat from the reaction is captured and converted into power and the amount of power that is generated per unit of waste. Several of the companies out there that a vying to build the next wave of plants are even developing advanced and novel fuels. @Demoted - what you mentioned definitely makes me feel conflicted. On one hand, developing cleaner and safer technologies to provide power for the future is very exciting, but as you mention the need is primarily driven by AI and data centers which are, of course, disproportionately affecting areas that are primarily persons of color, the poor and poorly educated, or both. I feel a little better when I think that if not for new power, those disadvantaged communities may actually lose access to power because the politicians will certainly cater to "Mega Corp" instead of their actual constituents.
  11. Sucks they lost Fraser and Cloutier but nice to see familiar faces Ryan Benesch and Mitch De Snoo back with them... This team is still a wagon... 3 straight championships and 5 straight Finals appearances is quite the run they have had so far...
  12. When I saw the projected lineups yesterday, I wondered if Lindy was sending a message to Tuch and Tage in this respect? He puts Tage with Benson and Kozak, and Tuch with Doan and Östlund. I don't think the Zucker line needed it, as Zuck and McLeod tend to raise Quinn's effort.
  13. Malenstyn Krebs Dunne. Great chemistry. Puck hounds. Like to get dirty in the corners and the wall, love playing around the paint. Best 4th line combo this season. Great example to our top three lines.
  14. I just wish the Bills had an excellent blocking TE they could use to give Allen extra protection.
  15. These AI facilities have already destroyed communities in the south. As long as those communities are black or low educated they are OK with destroying them. Greed is great 👍
  16. But with the top 100 players in the league having included the Sabres on their contractual "no trade" list, I don't see how any "top 4" or "top 6" player comes to WNY. The top 20 or so "destination" franchises will be trading players amongst themselves going forward, IMHO. I don't see how the least attractive franchises (w/Sabres at the bottom) get significantly better.
  17. Bizaar stat is as of this AM, 18 out of 32 teams are at even/zero or negative goal differential. Just an odd stat I noticed.
  18. I'll take Ellis with those numbers that are heavily influenced by one Really bad game but a bunch of good games... Rather than somebody else who has similar numbers but it's nothing but a bunch of mediocrity. When evaluating a goaltender, I would much rather look at what percentage of their games are they even or positive on the goals allowed versus expected goals allowed... Rather than raw numbers averaged together.
  19. Your Buffalo Sabres. The most predictable unpredictable team in the NHL.
  20. Both starting OT's missing today. Please don't get Allen killed.
  21. Stole one. 2 incredibly fortunate goals in regulation. 4th line was our best line. Our top 3 lines cannot finish. Wild had a bunch of chances they couldn't convert. Ellis made some great saves.
  22. First, keep Sabrespace AI free, then the world.
  23. (Puts on dinosaur costume) I don’t have an issue with Meier’s hit. I’d like to see the Sabres throw more chicken wings out there. I do have an issue with the lack of response. If your teammate is down and bleeding, you jump the guy. Even if you take a licking.
  24. That's not what I am talking about
  25. I'd want to see detailed stats on high danger chances, breakaways, actual saves above expected and all that other stuff. As @pastajoe said he passes the eye test and just looks more in control of the net with calm sound positioning. But if you want to make the argument they are all the same then you keep the two younger ones.
