  1. Past hour
  2. 6-3 game one win with Boushh playing. 0-3 since.
  3. Laval must have burned out vs the Amerks. Charlotte has won the first two games in Laval; 5-1 and 5-2.
  4. The Oilers saw that and then decided to play Jeff Skinner to 2X the Sabre factor in their favor.
  5. This is what Dallas gets for benching Lybushkin. The ex Sabre bump is gone.
  6. I read a story about Zito’s leadership style. He said he has surrounded himself with some smart hockey people who will challenge him. He wants a diversity of ideas and will hear them out before making a decision. The people he mentions as advisors are Rick Dudley, Paul Fenton, Roberto Luongo, Gregory Campbell, Les Jackson and a few others.
  7. Just So talented that McDavid eh?
  8. McDavid wasn’t even floating defensively looking for an easy outlet. He’s just faster to pivot and take off than anyone else.
  9. And McJesus just puts a dagger in their heart. Even before that goal I was thinking the Stars are having to expend SO much energy just to make up the two goal deficit. Against a team like the Oilers that makes you very susceptible to odd man rushes against. And here we are.
  10. McDavid is amazing.
  11. Today
  12. If Skinner and the Oilers come through this year that will make it a well established pattern that other GMs will find impossible to ignore anymore. Lol
  13. It’s a game again.
  14. Watching Jeff Skinner drift around the D zone while his team was under assault looked familiar.
  15. Rumours are dumb. Go back and look at the last 100 rumours affecting this team. How many came true?
  16. I do like Rochester’s coach more than Appert.
  17. Everyone should’ve been stocking up on as many ex-Sabres as possible.
  18. Byram can walk for whatever we can get for him. His defensive metrics have been bad his entire career, including being a sub 50% expected goals against on COL which is almost impossible to do on a team that good. In his entire career, he's only had good numbers while playing with Dahlin... but everybody has good numbers with Dahlin. Addition by subtraction. We can pay Peterka. No reason not to. Even a bridge deal. Last year we were a defenseman and a goalie away from being playoff worthy. If we can trade Byram for a less flashy guy that's good at defense AND we somehow get a goalie, I think we're good. If I believe that (and I was one of the few that voted Sabres aren't making the playoffs on last year's preseason poll), then Tuch can too.
  19. Dreger shot this down today on Sabres live. Says there is no legs to this rumor and left over from trade deadline fake rumor.
  20. OR he could finally luck into the right guy in Buffalo for the Sabres and reluck into someone good for the Bills. Heck, the Steelers were THE joke in the NFL for pretty much the enitrely of their existance until Chuck Knoll and "L'il Abner" (Bradshaw) showed up. And they're still on only their 3rd HC in the last 1/2 century since. Wouldn't have ANY money on it. But would anybody in 1965 have seen the Stillers becoming THE team of the following decade and a perennial model of consistency since.
  21. Dallas is focused..
  22. I think the Sabres are facing three contract issues: Byram wants a bigger role Peterka wants to get paid Tuch wants to know things are going to get better. Management needs to navigate each of those situations while making the team better. Aren’t you glad Kevyn is in charge.
  23. So, wasn't Seravalli the one speculating the Sabres were trying to trade him at the deadline also? If so, seems like somebody really wants to do everything he can to help "his" team land a good player and isn't afraid to carry water for the guys he favors.
  24. I think the one thing Terry misjudged in all of this, is that by doing the very least amount possible, like literally nothing, he's out the final nail in the coffin to convince literally everybody on the planet that he is THE PROBLEM in Buffalo. Like, he could still half ashed dodged the bullet had he fired Adams like everybody on the planet was screaming for him to do. By not firing Adams I think he actually made Buffalo an exponentially worse destination than it already is. And that isn't hyperbole. It's still not too late. Fingers crossed but it's a wet dream I know we are all riding the JA17 high, but I don't know how anybody isn't terrified of the post McBeane/Allen era assuming Pegula is still walking the earth. I truly believe he can permanently ruin all of Buffalo sports if given the opportunity.
  25. You have no idea how depressing this post of yours is. Not because it acknowledges that Pegula had the right guy in his final 2 but chose the wrong guy; but because just like the other "rght" guy he didn't select with his 1st crack (thanks to the wonder that was Russ Brandon) the "right" guy was still available when the wrong choice was punted. But unlike with the Bills where he made THE right choice with the do over; he made the wrong choice again and that "right" choice was bumped up to GM elsewhere a few months later. The reality that Pegula got 2 cracks at making the right choice with both teams but only did so for 1 hit like a ton of bricks reading this. They could've had Bill Zito running that bridge season where they tried one final time to make a team built around Eichel work. Fack, we could've still had that entire core (well, minus O'Reilly because he was already gone) still here. Such a depressing summer and we're still more than 3 weeks from it officially being summer.
