Yes. But the Sabres don't ALWAYS have to be the team giving up the best player. What's the point of having too friggin' many prospects to ever have them all in the lineup if you aren't willing to use some of them as the proverbial sweeteners to actually be the team giving up quantity for quality.

Sabres announce Jarmo Kekalainen Hired as Senior Advisor

I’m not saying that JJP won’t be a better player than Zucker. But as a player he will never be as rugged a player as Zucher is. Just simply two different styles of play. -
You also have to give something to get something.
-
I would trade Muel for basically anything. What a stupid contract by Adams.
-
Man, if Mr Sabre, himself wanted out have we achieved "rock bottom" ??? Reality, is a sad sack in Sabreland If THIS is "hockey Heaven" then, Hail Satan, I guess???

Good on you for deflecting said teacher's $hit bullet It's sad that a person, who's job is/was to aide in the molding/shaping of our future citizens, was THAT lacking in situational awareness. Just a shite thing to do to a developing mind, IMO For the sake of clarity, I feel obliged to share that I'm not a 'participation trophy' sort of patent, I'm (mostly) from the "old school" and I'm trying to instill in my son the same traditions, minus the, quick-to-use-corporal punishment, for 'behavioral modifications' 😃 I do remember encounters with faculty like the one you described, and I hope that my kid won't experience anything similar! Faculty seems, generally speaking, rather soft on the kids these days, IMO Incidentally, my boy received an academic performance award in science (5th grade) and the thing has a TYPO in the descriptor!!!! I suck at written composition, so you know it's blatantly obvious if I saw it. 😃 The irony of an educational institution presenting an 'exemplary' award with a mistake that I assume is due to lack of checking for errors is not lost on me. We are in strange times, my friend...

It’s just like the “save money for the RFAs” thing. How did that turn out? the sabres never get to “good problems to have” stage because they don’t create an environment where good scenarios emerge Cart/horse, always don’t build a playoff team, build a cup team ok, you hubristic bastards
-
There is ALWAYS a spot for another top 6 winger. It might be on the 3rd line, but that is a 1st World problem that would be a very nice problem to have.
-
If you don’t qualify for the playoffs you get an extra 2 month head start The sabres are the league outlier in terms of performance. If there are any deals being made at all, Sabres should be among them “well what about the rest of the league?” Is one serious lol? Who cares! Are we not in a completely different position to everyone? the “common standards of the league” are so often applied to Buffalo when we KNOW the sabres aren’t the standard. “No one trades a high first.” No one misses the playoffs 14 years. Trade it

Should have definitely found a veteran partner/mentor for Power when they drafted him. Plus hired a Jay McKee type coach to work day and night with the D.

Keep telling yourself that so you can make yourself feel better that making the playoffs doesn’t actually matter 👍 It matters. It’s what most fans want. It’s a ridiculously low bar, it IS attainable, it is because of the FRANCHISE we don’t have it, and no matter how much you so desperately want to blame the fans, you can’t do it. You desperately, desperately need to tell yourself that the fans interests are disingenuous - it terrifies you that what the fans want is actually attainable and that the franchise is responsible. For you, you HAVE to believe the fans can’t be happy. You NEED to believe the organization can’t satisfy. the simple admittance most fans would be happy with playoffs torpedoes the image of the org and by dammnit Promo wont have it

So what he's saying is Darche fired after one season? No way Islanders are that stupid unless Hagens is still there at 9. Then maybe. The SJ deal I could see happening.

I think you're missing some perspective on this. Zucker isn't really more rugged, he just comes from playing on different teams and he's only "rugged" relative to the softness of how the Sabres play. JJP has shown moments that tells me he'd be more rugged in a different system and coached differently. Consider E-Rod in Florida for example (I'm not comparing E-Rod to JJP skill wise, just how they played here how they play there). Zucker has also played for different teams and as a veteran he has been taught more defense so it's natural to him. Sabres haven't taught it to Peterka so what do you expect? Every young kid in the league wants to play offense and score goals. Defense is hard and boring. By the time Peterka is Zucker's age he will be a far better player and he will be just as rugged and defensive. Unless he stays a Sabre, then who knows. -
Ridiculously sad to see Haliburton go down like that

Hard to say the order of the Cs, tbh they’d probably be saying they are after a “1C” if that was reasonably attainable, unless the plan for Tage is back to C. If we add a 2C as is, I suppose we’d have 3 guys who can be 2C on a good day. Suppose they’d be hoping you get a viable 1, 2 and 3 out of that (the 1 will be lacking, the 3 hypothetically an advantage). But to me that’s more of a solid plan if we had 3 written in stone 2Cs. McLeod and Norris are more so “maybes” on that front and we don’t even have the third guy yet. their idea to keep adding Cs is a good one - we need it I wouldn’t worry about “room” for anyone - we can afford to add literally everywhere

Would you be so confident in the bet if it was for July 6, 2027? -
The teacher’s insensitivity wasn’t too damaging to me because I was voted the class president and gave a short speech on stage to the audience at the graduation ceremony. It ended well.

So center spine would be Norris - ? - McLeod. But do we have a spot for a top 6 winger if we bring back Peterka?

Are there major changes coming this summer and who will make them?
Thorny replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
In a way it’s easy to put the pieces together there because we KNOW Botterill got fired because he didn’t agree with cutting costs. What are the odds HE was the one against doling out cash to Reinhart? -
I think you're a cool cat, if my opinion means anything? I had the opposite chorus exp during my scholastic years Music teachers would volunteer me, EVERY year, from 1st grade up to middle school b/c of my vox capabilities (not bragging, it's whatever) and it was my duty to get myself booted from chorus, as I found the experience not to my liking 🫡 I suppose they heard something they liked/needed b/c it was more than one teacher AND it happened every year, until high-school Now, had they been performing Fauré's Requiem, maybe I would have reduced my resistance

I have no idea how to link an article from my Bleacher Report app But here are some highlights: “Lightning Must Trade for JJ Peterka Amid Stanley Cup Hopes Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff reported that the Lightning are one of several teams interested in adding Buffalo Sabres left wing JJ Peterka via trade this off-season. The Lightning need depth and adding a top-tier winger to the roster that already has Brandon Hagel and the great Nikita Kucherov would certainly do that. The question is what Tampa would have to give up in return. Draft picks, a quality defenseman, and/or a center would likely be involved as the Sabres continue to look for ways back to the playoffs for the first time in 14 years. Peterka is a future star at a position of need. Giving up a center or defenseman, both of which the team has in abundance compared to their depth issues at winger, is a small price to pay for a player who theoretically could come in, provide an immediate offensive spark, and help the team keep pace with the Panthers, Toronto, Carolina, New York, and New Jersey, all off whom are strong candidates to emerge from the Eastern Conference in any given season.“

No that was Garnet Hathaway who plays for Philly, he would also be a nice adds and I figure we could get him for a Sammy swap
