Sabres need to step it up. NJ is fast and they forecheck. Sabres breakouts need to be crisper and they need to get pucks deeper and create traffic in front of the net.

About 15 seconds left in the period, Dillon with a smart, veteran interference that went uncalled. Simply skated Quinn into the boards so that Quinn couldn't get to the dump-in. 20+ feet away from the puck when it happened. Took away the opportunity for the Sabres to possess the puck and look for a shot.

Byram with the terrible turnover, then the puck luck carom off of Tuch -- over Lyon -- and right to the middle of the net where two Devils have the first chance at it. Meanwhile, the Sabres have the puck jump over their stick after getting alone in the slot.
