  1. Past hour
  2. Agreed, I didnt have this feeling about Pegula Pre Bills, Pre Covid Pre Kim's tragic medical event... my feeling is that he seems to have lost a significant amount of passion and his desire to win no matter what is just non existant... I am not claiming to know... I am just claiming I feel like this whole "sole existence" thing has shifted to I am happy to be here...
  3. Sounds like he's a good judge of character!
  4. I don't think UPL is consistent enough as a goalie, but I have nothing against the guy. I hear he doesn't like being called UPL? they call him Opie (ouh-pee)?
  5. Yes! Richard Martin bought my brother beer at Mulligans, we lived right near there
  6. I recall running into Donald Audette once at Prohibition around the corner from the arena. A bunch of Sabres were there after the game.
  7. UPL doesn't like you either. 😜
  8. I saw the tweet and I was upset only because I don't like UPL as a player and hope he leaves the team soon so we can win more games. 🙂 If it were anyone else I'd think it's cool they're going out in Buffalo having a fun time.
  9. A chicken-crap move to start something.
  10. Ralph Wilson was not a public figure and neither was Seymour Knox. But we at least heard from them from time to time. Terry's silence shows apathy. I don't care what he does with his football team, he owns two teams and he is responsible for both of them, not just the one that is winning. I showed you the letter that Jacobs wrote to the Bruins fans after missing he playoffs last season. The Bruins are in the thick of the playoff race once again and that team is still not very good. But they expect to win games from the top of the organization on down.
  11. What dirty laundry? I don't read his quotes as anything.
  12. A twenty-something at the bar on the biggest bar night of the year leading into a holiday/day off is the least shocking thing I have heard in a while.
  13. Saw an article that said that's always been his middle name. Expect that in Namibia it's about as big a deal as having a last name of Satan in the republics making up the former Czechoslovakia.
  14. McKegney, Gare and Terry Martin were bachelors and were in Mulligans on Hertel a lot. Their partying was different than what the married guys did and I will leave it at that. Bowman did not like their brand of partying.
  15. Lindy said he wasn’t pulled in the game due to his play, but rather to send a message to the team. I highly doubt the comments have anything to do with it, but I also wouldn’t be surprised in the least bit if he wasn’t in good standing. Most players don’t air their dirty laundry publicly until they’ve already aired it privately.
  16. Bowman didn't care unless it was the night before a game and they were out past curfew. That's a big part of why McKegney became a Nordique.
  17. I read he just changed his last name from Hitler
  18. Yes, I see that can be confusing. I want to see Lyon. I prefer Lyon to the other goalies. I do not care if UPL goes to a bar on Thanksgiving Eve when he has Thursday off.
  19. You realize you're answering your own made up conspiracy right here, right? What happened in that period he played that explains why he isn't playing far more than mundane comments?
  20. OK, sorry, misunderstood why you'd posted that. And with the caption to the photos/videos being "this is the accountablility the Buffalo Sabres organization holds their players up too [sic]" thought you were echoing that tweet's view that somehow players must pay a penance for having the audacity to lose a hockey game. 100% want Lyon between the pipes tonight. Expect Ellis will be his backup, pretty sure he hasn't even dressed for the last 3.
  21. Why panic? The are almost exactly the team most of the board thought.
  22. In the mid and late 70's many of the Sabres went out on Sunday evening after home games, which ended at about 9:30. I was a waiter/bartender at popular Buffalo restaurant and bar and we had a kept a special section open to accommodate them and their wives (or GFs) on Sunday evening. We would see them by about 11:00 for a late snack and drinks, and we stayed open until they were done. They won a lot of games back then and they were usually in really good moods and having fun. I don't remember Punch or Scotty caring at all about it.
  23. Today
  24. I've said this in a prior post, so excuse me for the repetition. As you indicate, what's outrageous to me is that we have a person who has been an owner for more than 15 years of a franchise that has overall been a failure. Although he's not a high-profile owner who is more known for not speaking than speaking, we simply don't know where he is coming from. (As you noted.) Is he committed or not? I don't know. Is he determined to turn things around by reconstituting the staffing? I don't know. Based on his invisibility, it would appear to many that he is apathetic to this particular enterprise. Is that the case? I don't know. There's an enraging absurdity to this Wizard of Oz behind the curtain scene owner act that makes no sense to me. Why get involved in the highly competitive and public business of owning a sports franchise if you act as if you are not engaged or have a passion for an endeavor that you chose to get involved in. What bothers me the most about Pegula isn't that he isn't much of a public figure as it is his seemingly inactions/involvement, especially during the KA floundering era. It makes no sense to me.
  25. There is nothing here. Everything he said makes sense. No finger pointing. The crew on NHL Network said he was hurt.
  26. I am not upset. Happens all the time. Hockey players are not choir boys. I want to Lyon today, not UPL, for hockey reasons.
  27. The only panic yesterday was running low on mashed potatoes.
