This is huge

I don't give a damn if Terry writes a letter.

Ok Enough Terry - Fire Ruff Adams and the Assistants!

Adams and Forton don't understand age curves and they don't understand how "motor" works or what it entails. The fact analytics had to go to bat to get Benson is all we need to know about scouting. They need about 6 more guys that have non stop motors, check well, and have skill. Helenius might be 1. We're talking years of drafting correct or using Power to acquire some now. -
Bills are on bye, is Terry going to rouse himself out of his Florida retreat to actually watch his hockey team?
-
Agreed. I try to watch every game I can, and when they suck its much more painful.
-
I agree, I have never heard an owner apology, but honestly not looking for one.. I like what Charlie Jacobs did after 1 year in a row of not being in the playoffs... We all know this is never happening with Pegula, all we will get is a snarky GM blaming the fans for impatience, talking about Palm trees and taxes and telling that we should be happy to just be here.
-
For this team, nothing would make me happier than a winning streak. Wins are more important than Kevyn getting fired (even if they are not mutual exclusive).
-
I noticed that too! Saw them dozens of times at the CPG back in the day. And absolutely, if you have never heard Gamalon, George was amazing and the dude with the electric Violin was just sick... suprized they never really hit big time.
-
I dont want a win... I want a Stanley Cup... not even a first round playoff exit... In my opinion, this will not happen until the Front office is gutted and an Adult professional GM with credibility and competence is not only hired but given the keys, hire their own staff, assess the team and takes an appropriate course..... (not that this is ever likely to happen). This to me is the only way out of this abyss... and the only way this is going to happen is if Terry is handed an absolute cluster of losing, defections, attendance issues, negative press, maybe a Billboard (its worked before LOL) and potentially even league intervention in so much as them saying Dude, you have to do something... your zipper has been down for 14 years and we have to tell you that the Henrietta Hippopotamus underwear you are wearing is a bit juvenile.... so... your gonna need to zip up... oh, and you have a bit of a hanger on coming out of your nose... its been there a while.... its a lot to ask... but a short term win doesnt help us out here...

As PASabresFan would say, rooting for the jersey is the way. The players, coaches, GMs, trainers, etc come and go. The jersey is always there. Until it isn’t.
-
This sort of question has been posed before -- specifically here and generally elsewhere. From the standpoint of typing a post to a message board on a weekday morning, I can feel that desire for the current enterprise to just totally fall apart -- let them get outshot 42-18 by effin' Ottawa, let the full weight of the failure come crashing down on Adams' (and Pegula's) heads. But once warmups start, once the puck drops, I want them to win. Full stop. There's a silo effect, imo.

Don’t forget Foligno. Bad management. No team wins without good management from scouting to drafting to signing FAs to making trades and constructing a roster. Show me a championship level team and I’ll show a good GM. Since Pegula has owned the team, there has never been good management. Until he steps back, hires a real President of hockey operations who then hires a good, non-rookie GM, the Sabres won’t and can’t win. Firing Adams is not enough. - Today
-
Rooting for a win, but expecting failure. I hope the fans chant fire Adams for 60 minutes if the team is listless again.
-
The two words used to support the change from Granato to Ruff, were accountability and structure. Accountability starts at the top. Pegula and Adams have shown no willingness to take accountability for what is happening. As for structure. It is structure that is supposed to prevent 11 game losing streaks. It is structure that is supposed to allow you to survive a period of injuries. A team that is well-coached and has a good structure, can fall back on that structure to survive through difficult stretches where there are injuries or the puck just isn’t going in the net. Lindy Ruff simply does not coach a successful, repeatable, structures brand of hockey. Ruff being brought in to install structure, was a giant red flag. The Devils had a bad spate of injuries in 23-24, but had they been a team that played with structure they would not have gone from being one of the league’s best teams to one of the worst.

I know that Bogosian was grossly overpaid as a Sabre. But, seeing him fairly consistently be able to play a role on a playoff level team, and seeing Johansson and Hinostroza continue to play effective roles in the NHL, should be a signal to us that, generally speaking, the players aren’t the issue. -
I understand the concept, but to many people you're just rooting for the Jersey to a large extent. If the players aren't good enough, and some people legitimately don't like the management, or the ownership, or both, then it's not really your "team" to them, but rather some unlikable imposters that are temporarily filling in that role. I guess that's a long way of saying the team to some people isn't just the name or the Jersey, it's everything and everybody that encompasses it... And if you don't like a large part of that, I could see not rooting for it or them. Especially if you have a strong opinion that those people temporarily failing allows the organization to hire other people to make your team better. The reason I thought this was a good time for a poll... It seems like there's a lot of people that are openly rooting for chaos. I'm not 100% there yet, but I could thoroughly understand wanting massive change to this team being more important than a win to move you to 1-3 on the season. If someone feels that way I don't find it embarrassing at all.
-
Changed it to just win and lose. If people want to explain the reasons why, I guess they can do so in the thread by posting.
-
I want the Sabres to win every game they play, but if they’re going to lose a game I want the wheels to fall off spectacularly to bring change.

200 level seats for less than $20 tells you everything you need to know about where the fan base is. Are people really eating that much per game or are the Sabres giving them away on the secondary market? -

I’m glad I didn’t decide this is the season to go back to paying for access. -
This. I'm cheering for them to win.

We have a perfect record, why screw with it? -
Rooting for your team to lose is embarrassing. Just don’t. And limiting the poll options to just those two reasons sucks. If those are going to be the reasons, just shorten the options to, just win, or lose.
-
To answer my own poll, I'd say I want them to win tonight, but tonight's game might be the biggest swing game of the season in getting me to change my vote. If they lose tonight, it's going to be really hard to look anything positive at this season at all. But let's say they win tonight, by multiple goals, and look really good doing it. I'll be able to convince myself, at least temporarily, yeah, they can turn this around.
