  1. Past hour
  2. I suppose having a good week is better than having a bad week just like climbing 1 foot up the wall of a 500 foot hole you dug is better than making the hole 501 feet deep. I can kind of appreciate him saying they don't know what the **** they are doing. Sometimes it's nice to be blunt. I think it's hard for people to accept that there has been financial improvements and most of that comes from a rejection from how he handles himself and his views on other things more socially aligned. The question, I think, is whether people put more value in an improving economy or social progression. Personally I would love to find a way to improve both but it seems we continue, as a country, to put those things into diametrically opposing camps so they have to play against each other.
  3. As the roster currently stands, the biggest crying need is a playmaking top-six forward. On the free agent front, i was thinking Patty Kane might be a good one, but he had just 17. Best bets are Mikeal Granlund with 31 (17th in the league) while Ehlers had 27 Other guys potentially available: Necas: 32 Zibenajad 31 Danault 28 Rust 23 Rossi 22 If Byram's gotta go and the Kings are interested, Danault is somebody I'd be looking at. Only 21 NHL forwards had 30 primary assists Jason Zucker(!) led the Sbres with 24. Never would have guessed that. Not sure it's a stat I'd want to invest in heavily, but interesting and relevant.
  4. Marner wants to get paid and wants to play for a winner. Both of these things eliminate the Sabres.
  5. Is there a forward line of all RHD?
  6. Krebs, Helenius, another B prospect and a 2026 1st Top 3 protected for Robertson Byram for Jordan Kyrou Sign Nate Schmidt or Ryan Lindgren Robertson-Norris-Thompson Kyrou-Kulich-Tuch Benson-McLeod-Quinn Greenway-Doan-Zucker Schmidt/Lindgren-Dahlin Power-Kesserling Timmins-Bernard-Decker
  7. Yep - that's typical for a 3rd rounder. Hopefully he ends up being a solid bottom pair guy, that would be a win
  8. AND the plan WAS adjusted about a year and a half ago. Original plan never would've seen Mittelstadt, Savoie, &/or Cozens traded. Now their own can be traded provided the return isn't anyone over the age of 25.
  9. Because Peterka and Marner are not the same people. What are each player's motivations?
  10. Depends. IF that $5.5MM they netted in cap space by only getting ~75-80% of what Peterka is worth gets used to really shake up the team would rather have that original deal the way it is. If (when) they hang on to that cap space like Scrooge McDuck holds onto a nickel, would absolutely 100% prefer this adder to the deal leaving them only a little over $2MM of wasted cap space.
  11. You gonna be so mad The pick becomes a 2029 second-rounder if Toronto makes the playoffs this year and Maccelli gets at least 51 points through the 2025-26 season.
  12. There is a plan. It's as well thought out as those who play Lotto to become millionaires. It's about as well executed as those who flip a coin at every intersection to figure out how to get where they are going. BUT!!! There is a plan.
  13. FWIW….likely not much haha a rumor on X has Byram for Parayko, Bolduc, 3rd
  14. At 19. Expecting one to be significanlty closer to his ceiling for that stat than the other.
  15. Wow, they can only put together 1 more F line using F's than they could using G's. Wonder if any of the G's skate out for kicks. (No, not really, but it would be fun to see.)
  16. But... what's the condition? Does it become a first if the Leafs make the playoffs (the Sabres wouldn't be able to do something like that)?
  17. I actually think the issue with hockey and uppers is partially the schedule. These guys basically live in hotels for 6 months. I'm willing to get that if hockey halved their games (not saying in for it) there would be waaaaay less coke. I don't think the prevalence in the league is so much money related.
  18. Just imagine if the Sabres Peterka trade is Peterka and a 3rd for Maccelli, Kesselring, and Doan. How much better do ppl feel today getting a guy 1yr removed from 55pts and 38a.
  19. He's an interesting buy low candidate. 🤔 KA wouldn't know what that was. He's looking through last year's almost waiver wire for his top 6 upgrade.
  20. Get your torches and get your pitchforks, we going to Keybank center.
  21. I’ve long felt what will save the sabres is a specific type of ego. It’s literally the anti Kevyn Adams - who’s defining trait may be that he refused to ever claim the Drought we need an Ego, player, coach, executive, who wants to step in and fix it simply because they want the kudos of being the one to do it a real competitor. A man or woman who really wants a claim to fame
  22. Macceli traded to Toronto, Marner replacement lol
  23. It was kinda cool to get the signings before the actual clock started
  24. He had the same rate for primary assists as JJP interestingly enough.
  25. I see the same in Benson. The type of playmaking we are severely lacking (that blends into PP efficiency, too) that no amount of proficiency of passing on our top D pair can make up for. It’s always about depth. We don’t have enough playmaking. I don’t think we have close to enough
