It's weird to jump the gun like this when a deal isn't done. If this contingency doesn't happen, was this deal for real? We'd never know. Seravelli is the guy who said the Sabres were buying out Samuelsson.
-
Someone on another board I go on is saying there are Rumors it’s a three team trade Buffalo getting Dobson islanders getting 4 overall Utah gets Peterka
-
True but it isn’t like he said Utah is interested in Peterka he said the trade is done, just waiting on one caveat, and that likely is a Peterka extension hopefully not a no move to waive!
-
It's Seravalli so don't lose your mind just yet.
-
True just wondering if he may be part of this deal
-
We have better get a killing on this because I like Peterka hope not, he fell off the past couple years
-
Lawson Crouse?
-
To be fair, we shouldn't take Adams word on anything either. But back to the possible trade. Unsure how I feel about it. During the presser yesterday whoever asked about the Peterka asking for a trade mentioned it was a get out of jail free card for these guys. I hate that that hits home. I hate that it signifies this whole thing failed. I hate that they guy who put it all in motion is still in charge of the whole forking thing. And lastly I think Peterka is going to be a very good player in the NHL.
-
Then flip that to NY for Dobson
-
Please please please be true, I really think Kesserling, playing with Power would be the best we can do As well he signed for one more year at 1.8 million so if he is the main piece coming back, that opens up a ton of cap to do more things
-
Holy *****! Gotta be Kesseling coming back
-
4th overall?
-
This is the same guy who said they were buying out Samuelsson. He’s not very credible.
-
Hmmmm for who?
-
Not exactly drafted by the same team, but Gordie Howe played with both his boys in Houston and with the New England/Hartford Whalers. Would be surprised if there are no fathers and sons that were drafted by the same team.
-
The quote from Dreger about Byram "And probably most importantly here, is the market for Bo Byron is terrific. It sounds like Adams, you know, to get involved in a trade conversation, a serious one, needs a right-shot defenceman coming back. I was told earlier today that things sound like they're getting closer in terms of a trade, but we'll see how it develops in the days, if not hours ahead."

Kevyn Adams pre draft press conference and shenanigans festival

You could argue it's 20+ too many

When it comes to Martone, has a father/son combo ever been drafted by the same team?
-
These aren't rankings; I haven't studied film. This is my list of the guys most appealing to me as a Sabres fan that could conceivably be there when we pick: Porter Martone: he's no Matthew Tkachuk, and his skating is meh, but the dude is an alpha, skilled and has the type of swagger the Sabres need Brady Martin: people are overrating him because of the intangibles; he's probably a 2nd-liner at best. Don't care, we need what he brings James Hagens: don't see a 1C in the pipeline; he's got the best chance to be one of any player that might slip Jackson Smith: a stallion, big rangy and competitive, with all the tools you need to be a top 4 D Radim Mtrka: he's going to PK and kill plays for a long time. Better tools than people give him credit for. When he matures he's the exact D the current Sabres are missing I like Aitcheson, Carbonneau, Eklund and Bear, but there will be better choices available Not excited by O'Brien or Frondell, but I guess they give value at 9 McQueen scares me; it's less the back and more the sense that he might be Kirby Dach.

Trading 2 NHL players, one proven top 6 forward and another proven top 4 defender for a player who’s never played an NHL game and not at the prospect level of a McDavid or Crosby? That’s steep. Is he that good?
-
Debatable. The only guy in the 1st round range who profiles in any way like Savoie we're not drafting so I wouldn't worry.
-
He's got 11 more playoff goals and 28 more playoff games, but Kyrou's no gritty warrior. His career Corsi is fantastic though and his numbers aren't a result of piggybacking off Tage Thompson You're probably getting more goals and better defence, but the biggest gain is he's an adult and JJ is not.
-
You're not far off. He's just so damn young still. I'll set his O/U point total at 38.5 next year. I like him....but he's still growing
