  1. Past hour
  2. Right. Was it not reported that the job was declined a few times? It’s very typical for them to make the easy decision. A legitimate GM search (I’m guessing) would have included more impressive names. Next steps are telling. With Kevyn should be the rest of that front office. Jarmo has certainly had the time to reach out to his network and build a new staff.
  3. GMJK had to have autonomy assurances, right? I know opinions range on Pegula’s influence from Absent to Meddler, but an industry veteran (player, scout, GM) doesn’t take the job unless he knows he has the keys, right? RIGHT?
  4. Tuch's the main piece that i don't think anyone wanted KA dealing with. I felt like we're either going to overpay, or lose the trade. Beyond that the main pieces that I'd consider moving out: UPL - Has played more here than Ullmark, Lehner and everyone else post-miller. He is not good. Byram - Just hasn't found it here ( I think this could be "or Power" but if it took forever to get a 2 year deal done with Byram, i just don't see the necessary mutual interest) Malenstyn - He's played a lot better this season, but is expiring this season Greenway - Like his length and PK, but he's slow as molasses and doesn't offer much O for what he gets paid. Quinn - There are always little glimpses of him being a really good player, and then he goes invisible. He's looked better no longer riding on the Cozens line, and i fear the value of the return makes it not really worth it. He's a piece in a larger trade package I'd have to say. Then there are the young players like Östlund, Rosen, and Kulich - You probably don't want all 3 in your opening day lineup next year, and there's no reason to put them in the AHL.
  5. We need a new Sabrespace spelling correction to change what you typed to Kekäläinen. Couple umlauts there. Had to be the first to post. Has your time differential slipped? Are you only mere seconds ahead of the rest of us? 😛
  6. Yeah, this does nothing for me... we are just promoting from the same internal pool of failure... more of the same to come...
  7. The extensive search consisted of all the candidates who said no way in hell.
  8. I would love for Buffalo to get Sherwood only if they can extend him. He plays a hard game and has a shot
  9. They hid Kekäläinen somewhere in the Key Bank Center and it took Terry six hours to find him. Pegula considers that an extensive search
  10. the confusion is a product of terrible writing. i think they're saying it was an extensive search to find a senior advisor.
  11. The Sabres were in last place in the Eastern Conference before their three game winning streak began, and currently sit in last place in the Eastern Conference. The decision was made during the road trip and they were waiting for Jarmo’s Ok to announce it
  12. I'm sorry but what "extensive search" is Terry talking about in his statement? They clearly brought in Jarmo this offseason with the plan that if it didn't work, Kevyn would be replaced by him.
  13. I compare Kyle Dubas to Kevyn Adams, both don’t have a clue to what they are doing.
  14. Sorry Swamp, I must have confused you with someone else. Glad this was done! Still waiting for some additional red X’s from Thorny because that’s just what he does.
  15. Did Pegula get jealous of the Rossi trade. Funny we finally win games for once and the hammer finally falls
  16. Well, hopefully he can make the proper moves to get this team over the hump...I think they are closer than we think.
  17. Do mean where he ends up in the NHL? Where he ends up in the Sabres org? Where he ends up in general? I guess he could probably be a good assistant to the Assistant Athletic Director for the ECC Kats (It is always bonkers to me that the local CC spells cats with a K (Kats))
  18. Bout damn time!
  19. Weird but not interested in that currently. The most important question is does Jarmo actually have the power to make substantive changes or is he restricted to making trades and roster management? How much approval must Pegula give him before he does something like trade Tuch or fix the goalie debacle? If he is still tied to Terry's whims, how much change will we really see? I only respect front office personnel who have long tales about going incognito to Buffalo bars to get the laymans feel for the state of the team.
