  1. Past hour
  2. This has to happen, he has to be gone this has the potential to free up enough cap space to take a real run at Gavrikov or Ekblad or Ehlers or Boeser perhaps all Gavrikov to me, him and Dahlin, perfecto and then Bryram traded for a right power partner
  3. I kinda hate myself for even reading this NHL insider stuff, but here I am sharing it. Edit- I should have listened before posting it. He's just surmising... He hasn't really heard anything. I'll leave the topic going though since it's a worthwhile discussion.
  4. Yes still needs to be confirmed from the Sabres side bur this shows they are serious about changing this roster Sammy could not be here anymore more with his injury history, his cap hit, his lack of toughness, and put that all in with him being part of the leadership, no way
  5. Well, if true, I could not have been more wrong on that.
  6. Well, Byram didn't need a R shot partner, because he played about 1/2 of his even strength minutes with Dahlin. If we had put Power with Dahlin and made them partners (still an option!), then Power would not need a R shot partner.
  7. oh my god it’s happening!
  8. https://www.notedhockey.com/p/rasmus-dahlin-and-playing-the-offhand - He played mostly right side in Sweden. Not only is it not a myth, there are plenty of articles floating around that says he is more effective from the right side. I'm wondering if we are looking at the wrong NYI FA. What about trading for RFA Alex Romanov. He is a physical LHD and he has proven he can play 22 minutes a night and he effective playing with a Power like partner in Dobson. I'm wondering if he would be a perfect pair for Dahlin.
  9. I think the “Dahlin prefers the right” thing is a regurgitated myth. I could easily be wrong but I’ve searched many times and have never found more than his insistence he doesn’t care
  10. Samuelsson's 2 most common partners, by a lot, were Dahlin and Power. And, unless I'm recalling incorrectly, he ended the season back with Dahlin (Byram with Clifton, Power with Bernard-Docker). I don't think Samuelsson is going anywhere. This might be a hot-take, but I think there are many head coaches in the league, and a few who are currently unemployed, who would look at a 6 man D of Dahlin, Byram, Power, Samuelsson, Clifton, and B-Docker, and view them as more than good enough to be in the playoffs with. Contend with? No. But wild-card and make some playoff noise? I apologize to all if my comments on Ruff are getting repetitive and boring, but he was a huge mistake.
  11. John Cena vs CM Punk for the undisputed wwe championship, live next Saturday
  12. First things first: Dahlin/Dobson is a non-starter. Dahlin prefers the right side and although we have seen time and again Dahlin can play with anyone, if we are bringing in a Dobson he needs to anchor his own pair. We need a partner for Power (if we are keeping him) and while Dobson is an experienced RHD, Dobson's game doesn't not match up well with Power as they are similar style players except Dobson is slightly more aware defensively. Dobson was most effective the last 2 season playing with the physical Alex Romanov. If we are bringing in Dobson, we need to move on from Clifton, Power, Byram and probably Samuelsson. ????? Dahlin ????? Dobson Samuelsson? JBD
  13. It's funny that there is an obsession with getting a right shot D man for Power but no one is saying Byram needs one.
  14. Oh, it’s a hobby alright. Bordering on unhealthy addiction at times. And there’s just no replacing the thrills along the way. I’ve always been about “the journey” which is why I couldn’t resist renewing after biching and moaning for long stretches and writing them off. Maybe it would have been better to take up woodworking instead years ago. 😄
  15. Agree tbh. Say what you want, but one needs to get up preeeeeeety early in the afternoon to get the jump on Kevyn Adams
  16. Going about as well as the search for Spock
  17. Ek has Byram to Philly E4 So he def isn’t going there lol i still think there could be a Sammy for Risto swap
  18. There’s a non negligible chance the $ we’d have to pay is a non starter. If Tuch’s goal is to maximize his contract I don’t think we should play ball It’ll come down to money. Have you seen his deal? This next contact is his one and only chance to break bank
  19. The idea we keep seeing floated that we’ll only deal out 1st if we replace it with another later 1st is rankling Absolutely - we squandered Tuch’s best years at his bargain cap hit. His production will decrease and his cap hit is going up - Not an opinion
  20. The Sabres will get a good player
  21. It’s a good point - speaking from experience and anecdotally from listening around, the “hobbyist” nature of following the sabres/a team becomes one of the most significant sacrifices along the way when you don’t compete. the rumours ARE mostly made up and the draft scouting DOES mostly turn to ash and most prospect DON’T sniff the show but it’s super fun to indulge in all that when you actually feel a part of the league we have been taught those things don’t matter.
  22. People always say that GMs and coaches know better than the average fan, and that’s true. But in this case? If you’re a somewhat competent person, you would’ve hired decent people by now and learned your lessons.
  23. The crap isn’t related to an agent doing what’s in the best interest of his client, it’s the unverifiable rumors of multi-team interest that media and fans lap up. I’m sure that’s entertainment for some and that’s fine but until it’s tangible, it’s all crap to me.
  24. It is frustrating that there is a clear need to pair Power with a strong defensive partner given that Power was a number one overall pick in the draft. Players that are selected in that position are supposed to be the type of players that make everyone around them better. At his size, I also find it odd that he is not physical, which seems even stranger since he is a defenseman. If we are constantly looking for a defenseman to pair with Power because of his deficiencies, should we be considering Power a long-term asset for the team?
  25. That’s one aspect that to me is almost shockingly underplayed- everyone was so enamoured with the negative aspects of Jack but that interview with friedman where he SO SO obviously throws Pegula under the bus and not KA is right there. No one cares, no one wants to talk about it. Jack was just a bad boy. Talk about a canary in the coal mine
  26. Today
  27. Agent generated sure but dunno about “crap.” The agent is working on behalf of the will of his client
