  1. Past hour
  2. If they spend to the cap I'll eat my hat.
  3. Which makes sense for a scoring forward playing top line minutes most of the season. Ruff was heavy on the Krebs and Kozak/Lafferty lines in their d zone. For Doan it surprises me a bit because he’s a bottom six guy and they wanted him starting in the o zone if possible. Utah may have had a dynamite checking line though that got all their d zone starts.

  5. This made me curious. JJ Peterka started on the offensive zone 55.8% of the time at 5v5 and 65.8% of the time for all TOI.
  6. We are not getting Hagel, unfortunately. Were a team that drafted him and didnt sign him come time and relinquished his rights, we have no direction from ownership, a 14 yr playoff drought, horrible management, and no palm trees. He'd be insane to even consider us.
  7. C’mon, Big D. Fly….
  8. You know what I'm talking about.
  9. I would love to pry Hagel or Robertson. I would also or Quinn or something to Vegas for Nick Hague (can play LD or RD). That might not get us to the cap max, but it makes this team a lot better.
  10. I do like that Doan has had a very good Corsi relative to his team the last couple seasons as a youngster. But he’s not provided any PK time (a few minutes over 2 seasons). 60% o zone starts overall. Fairly protected thus far it would seem on the defensive side.
  11. Hey I heard none of that but I trust you here if so happy for the info. Let's see how these trades turn out in time. But you may be right he may be a mess in Ottawa too I just know he started out quite strong
  12. It’s only a small part of the offseason equation and as folks have noted, Kesselring is not an experienced RHD, he’s just the correct model of player they need. But he’s hardly a sure thing and could as easily want out or pride himself out (which would be great… temporarily) by next season.
  13. I voted yes because we were not good last year. I like Peterka but I want the team to win so getting better on defense is certainly what is needed. Now we need a 1st line left wing and a decent backup goaltender and just maybe we can put a good season together.
  14. The trade seemed to have Buffalo receiving less value than Utah received. The difference in value of what was going out vs what was coming back in would seem to be ~a 2nd rounder or a swap of top 10 picks. Something of that level. Though the Sabres didn't get that, they did end up with about $5.5MM in more salary cap space this season than Utah ended up with. So, that would seem to be where the Sabres saw the value equalling. And if Adams uses that extra cap space to help bring in players that can help now or extend say Byram and Tuch or use that and the other $6-10MM other cap space they'll have barring any other significant moves, well awesome. They should've been using their full cap space every year because cap space is like a fish you caught or a newspaper. Once it expires, it is expired and worth even less than the expired fish or newspaper is as it is now officially in the ether and doesn't exist in this reality any longer. You can't even use it for fertilizer or wrapping the next day's catch. But for years now, they've let cap space simply expire. And until they use this newly found cap space, have no reason to believe they won't just let it expire too.
  15. Yes, we can hope. Jarmo was the only one whose remarks and Q&A responses made any sense at their joint presser.
  16. Just watched Kesselring’s fights on YouTube. Doesn’t look like he’s necessarily good at it but he’s certainly willing. Thank goodness for that.
  17. Today
  18. Good. Keep Dahlin, Tuch, and Thompson happy. (Zucker too.)
  19. The Columbus -> Buffalo -> Dallas threw me. The amount it seems Jarmo is on the plane is surprising. But also I know Pegulas plane gets used even if it's not for him.
  20. One thing I am looking forward to is watching Kesselring hammer slapshots. His shot is only outdone by Tage's. Dahlin is very close behind in top shot speed. The other teams are going to be limping off the ice if they get in the way of that trio. You want to block this? Go ahead make my day.
  21. Heard Micah Parsons is unhappy about his contract situation.
  22. Nobody freak out There has to be another reason But....Pegulas jet was in Dallas this week after a little back and forth in Columbus and Buffalo. https://uk.flightaware.com/live/flight/XSR960
  23. Well, sure. In a year or 2 he gets reunited with Levi. 😉
