Neither have you contributed a single goal, as evidenced by this video from 5 years ago, from shortly before Adams took over. 

thankfully @PASabreFanpicked up the slack. Can’t imagine the win total amassed in this clip alone is too far off the total garnered by the Adams regime since

I remember when TP bought the Sabres. At that time, it was a concern that Buffalo could loose the franchise. .. So there’s that. I can’t help but wonder if he is holding on in hopes of finding a buyer who will keep the team in Buffalo. I don’t pretend to watch this stuff as closely as many of you but can’t help but wonder. Is TP doing us a favor in this regard? How else can this stagnation be explained? He doesn’t need this. … I might be completely missing on this line of thinking. Hell, I’ve been wrong before and hope I am now but …

There is the culture right there. Continuous poor hire after poor hire that has damned this organization for a decade and a half. It starts at the top.

I’ve stopped watching the games. If they aren’t serious about being competitive then they don’t get my time anymore.

I stopped watching them as well. Stopped buying gear for myself, family/friends, holiday gifts. Yes, as much as I love that logo I can’t support an organization, an institution, an entertainment outlet that is this bad for this long.

There's only one answer to this and it applies to everyone, regardless of playing hockey or not.  We are only accountable to ourselves. We cannot control the actions of others. 

As far as hockey goes, any player who decides they don't want to play at their best cannot point the finger at anyone else. At the very best that player becomes equally as culpable as all the others who have "given up".

Not trying because the team "sucks" and has "sucked" is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Only by actually putting in the effort could anything change.

if I am a GM on another team do I want to trade for a player who is willing to "give up" because of the situation?

I'm not saying players don't do it. I just won't ever excuse it and I wouldn't want those players on my team or coming to my team.
