steveoath Posted September 14 Report Posted September 14 First game of the season: Challenge cup match against fellow Scots Fife Flyers. Good 3-1 home victory for the Clan. Tonight they face the other Scottish team Dundee Stars who scored a TD against the Belfast giants in a 4-7 road win. 1 2 1 Quote
steveoath Posted September 18 Author Report Posted September 18 After a disappointing road loss to Dundee Stars in the challenge cup, the Clan returned to The Braehead Arena in their first EIHL match. This against the Manchester Storm. Colton Poolman joined the squad prior to the game and slotted straight into the top pair. Clan ran out 3-2 winners, with Poolman registering an assist. 1 Quote
steveoath Posted September 21 Author Report Posted September 21 (edited) Back to challenge cup action at the Braehead Arena. Dundee Stars were the visitors. In a very sabres like performance the Clan found themselves 3 down early on. Clan kept at it and managed to tie the game at 5 a piece with less than two minutes to play. Former Moose jaw warrior, and solar bear forward Tristan Langan stepped up in OT to finish off a hat trick and MOTM performance. Highlights below: Edited Monday at 11:23 AM by steveoath Quote
steveoath Posted September 21 Author Report Posted September 21 (edited) Sunday night - Clan went travelling to Kirkcaldy to face the Fife Flyers in the challenge cup. Langan opened the scoring, but Fife quickly came back and took a 2-1 lead with a short handed goal. Hugo Roy (former Coachella firebird) tied the game up 20 seconds later. Player of the weekend, Langan, set up young Scottish forward Alex Forbes for the go ahead goal. The third period ended scoreless and included a disallowed clan goal. All in all a very good weekends work for the Clan Edited Tuesday at 08:18 PM by steveoath Added highlights 1 Quote

It is quite the old franchise, 1934 or thereabouts. 1 Quote
steveoath Posted September 22 Author Report Posted September 22 Yeah, seem to be a well run and well supported team. Always great when they come down to Glasgow over the festive period usually Boxing Day or New Year’s Eve. They bring a rowdy away support so the Arena is bouncing. 1 Quote
steveoath Posted 1 hour ago Author Report Posted 1 hour ago (edited) Bad evening over in Belfast for the Clan. Despite Langan scoring early on the 2nd to open the scoring, they found themselves on the wrong end of of a 3-2 defeat: which included the empty netter. It’s not looking good for recent finnish goaltender signing Aittokallio - who was replace by UK netminder Lucas Brine after the second period. Aittokallio has looked very shaky in his starts so far. in contrast Tristan Langan has been lights out fantastic. 9 points in 6 games. We may see bigger teams come in for him during the season if he keeps it up. Quick turnaround needed as both teams will take the short hop back to Glasgow for the second match of this back2back. Both these matches are challenge cup games, not league. Edited 1 hour ago by steveoath Quote
