I’m fine with not having a lot of Forwards in the pipeline. Do people really think this is an issue? We’ve had a bountiful amount of Forwards in our pipeline over the last 5 years. Where has this done for us?
 

I’m sick of relying on 18 years olds. I’m sick of it not blocking kids. If we don’t have a tool in our toolbox, go out a sign a vet. Otherwise, we have too many young players either currently on the team or trying to gain a spot.

I guess it all depends on how you want to view “promising”.

Helenius seems to be developing as hoped.  I think Östlund is maybe Savoie level, which isnt a given for an NHL future.  Rosen is what he is at this point, which is probably a minor star in a European league.  Wahlberg, harder to say.  I suspect he may have more runway as a potential role player.

Why so negative? 

Ostund had 19G, 17A, 36PTS in his first season in the AHL all while dealing with a injury which kept him away for a while. 36 PTS in 45 games is pretty good, essp given the circumstances. He also got a cup of coffee in the NHL, didnt score but looked like he belonged. 

Rosen just scored 55 points in 61 games and had 5 goals in 8 playoff games. I wouldn't exactly sleep on him either. Truth is he hasn't really been effective in any of his NHL call ups but the potential is there.

Counter point, Jake Richard has been in Buffalo the past month training at the Academy of Hockey. He is training and staying with Gavin McCarthy (who is Kevyn Adams Neighbor)  He has another local connection who I believe is also training with them in Joey Muldowney (a SJ Draft Pick). Richard and Muldowney are roommates at UCONN and both are receiving NIL deals next season.  As of now the plan is to sign an ELC with Buffalo in the Spring.

Can you *imagine* if we didn’t luck out with Tage becoming a 40 goal talent (Adams was initially exploring trading him haha)? We have absolutely nothing aside from him other than the two first overall talents on D we literally got FROM being terrible

Tuch is a good player.  Benson has a chance.
