DarthEbriate Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago It looks like right now he's signed with Kärpät for Liiga next season, but he could probably opt over to the AHL if Bakersfield has an opening. He's grown his game as a distributor with TPS (probably too much as he plummeted to only 8 goals). I hope he gets to the AHL to show what he can do on the NA ice. 1 Quote
Archie Lee Posted 2 hours ago Report Posted 2 hours ago This is probably in the not worth our time category. Marjala is likely, at best, to reach the level of Lawrence Pilut or Artuu Ruostalainan as a North American prospect. It does reflect a little bit though, of how playoff and championship calibre teams operate v. teams like the Sabres. The Oilers have 3 picks in the forthcoming draft (rd 3, 6, 7). The Sabres currently have 10 picks (choose your metaphor: hamster wheel? treadmill? merry go-round?). If you are the Oilers, why hold mid-round picks when you can just wait for a team like the Sabres to pass on signing a 5th rd pick who, by any reasonable measure, has significantly outperformed their draft position. PerreaultForever Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago These things happen and who knows. I know nothing about him so can't say if we screwed up or not. I'm really interested to see if this Shabanov guy (supposedly linked to the Flyers) will come over and can he play. Supposed to be incredibly skilled, was just passed over for size. I only put it here cause it's not worth it's own thread on a Sabres site. Quote
SabreFinn Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago The signing of Marjala seems to be part of a strategy. Earlier they signed Atro Leppänen a 26yo LHD who had most points of all players in Liiga. They also signed David Tomasek a 29yo with two great seasons in Färjestad, SHL, the last season with over one ppg. Oilers are trying to find something useful in the european bargin bin. The Sharabanov to Flyers news are interesting, he and Michkov could be fun to watch. Quote
GoPuckYourself Posted 26 minutes ago Report Posted 26 minutes ago (edited) Well we now know Edmonton will win the Stanley Cup, that's how it works doesn't it? Edited 23 minutes ago by GoPuckYourself Quote

Directly into the lineup for game 3. Three assists in the win, feeding Draisaitl, Kane, and Skinner for the game-winner. That’s how it’s done. Quote
