Ryan Donato extends in Chicago, 4 years x 4 million per, 16 million total

Erick Huala just traded to Nashville from New Jersey, I beleive it was a 4th round pick that went to NJ, I bet they are freeing up salary to do something big

For Nashville this is weird, another aging forward who was very bad last year

This is wild

I like Frederic but that's crazy for him.

Giving a player like Frederic 8 years, just proves the cap options that they have.  I think he's a useable 35 point player.  18g18a type, who hits and uses his body well, but god.  Finding the right players for your bottom six is important, but overpaying them through the roof, is insane.  I still think the Malenstyn, Lafferty, Krebs, and sometimes Greenway group is something that needs to change.  They should be using guys similar to Florida, who signs guys who need change of scenary and other offcasts who fit that role.   I wasn't a fan of the Malenstyn trade, and still isn't.  He seems redundant and rather pointless.  I'm all for adding physicality and size.  This team has been a pushover for nearly 15 years.

I hope NJD goes for the whole Hughes clan.

Nemec, Mercer, a couple 1sts for Quinn Hughes. Get him now before he goes UFA in 2 years and adds another $5M to his contract.

Knock on Frederic in Boston was he checks out at times and tends to float. When he's on his game he can scrap and be a solid contributor but he had multiple stretches of nothing too. Always underperformed to expectations. Could the Sabres use him? Absolutely, and he would not have stood around like Samuelsson etc. but he's not a heavyweight either. Much better than Malentstyn but not worth the money being rumored.

As for the bottom line, Florida's bottom 3 all made less than 1m this season and we could have had AJ Greer for free as he was a waiver pick up. Just saying.
