JJFIVEOH
I just heard today that the Sabres have a chance of scoring the least goals in a NHL season since 1936. I'm pretty sure the number they said was 19 goals or less, so the Sabres have 11 games to score 20 goals. Stafford and Ennis are going to need a couple of hatricks. Doh, I'm sorry, I didn't see the post from JJFIVEOH, that is quoted right above this post. The magic number is 151. MattPie
It's been said here (I think), but raw goals scored is mediocre rating of a team, since it doesn't account for variations of how many goals are scored in the league on average that year. It would seem that goal diff or Goals For/League Average Goals would be a better stat for measuring this. You can't tell me that a team in 2005-6, when 16 teams averaged 3+ goals a game, and a team in 2013-4, when 6 teams average 3+ goals a game, are equal if they have the same total. Or back into the 70s when (it seems) the scores were a lot higher.

But the league has had it's highs and lows in terms of scoring in the last 80 years so becoming the lowest scoring team since 1936 is pretty telling. Now there have been many years where scoring was lower if you want to go by overall scoring.
Wyldnwoody44
Looks like tonight's game is helping out the worst offensive team category
mjd1001
I don't know, the games are a bit boring to watch with the lack of goals and the losing and all, but I'm not hating watching the team. I kinda like watching the team, if not the results. There is something to be said for watching a team with low expectations...vs watching a team fail to reach high expectations.
