  1. "Well placed" is an understatement. That shot was perfect.
  2. Kris Baker ‏@SabresProspects Grigorenko wires in a shot for his first goal back in the Q. Now has 1+3 as Quebec leads the Nics 5-3.
  3. Beat me to it. Gotta love Kris Baker's preternatural ability to track every Sabres prospect in the world in real time.
  4. That was pretty tame as "ragging" goes. I think he was upset that he didn't do better and get to stay. When asked why that happened, the nice thing to do is say you just didn't get enough ice time to prove yourself. Imagine the S-storm if he complained about his line mates (which probably had at least as much to do with it, if not more). He's also 18 so I'm not expecting an insane level of maturity. Almost everyone is an a-hole when they're 18. And some of us never grow out of it. Six regulation losses in a 68 game season is ridiculous.
  5. Just two? "Mark....is never, ever, ever....gonna play much better! Mark....is never, ever, ever....gonna play much better! He should sit for Jordan, sit for Brayden, sit for Reg-GIE! But Mark.....is never, ever, ever....gonna play much better!"
  6. This is funny. Lindy Ruff's Tie ‏@LindyRuffsTie Check it out, @taylorswift13! @MPysyk03 in the NHL now! Tweet him! RT @duffersabres: Welcome to the NHL Mark! #sabres pic.twitter.com/qQpNOngjdu Apparently, Pysyk mostly used to use his Twitter account to tweet at Taylor Swift and she never replied to him. My advice? Never give up, Mark. She'll be yours in no time.....for three weeks. Then she'll write a song about how horrible you are.
  7. Anyone remember the day we drafted Pysyk? The entire board (including me) had a meltdown when Montreal took Jarred Tinordi (6'6") right before our pick and we ended up taking a 6'0" Mark Pysyk. Tinordi has one NHL game under his belt and Pysyk's first will be in a few hours. Should be interesting to see which guy turns out better.
  8. That ship has sailed. I wanted to trade him right after his 31 goal season. Are we trying to get this franchise turned around with a fresh start or are we just going to keep running Stafford out there forever? If we can get anything like the 1st rounder we got for Gaustad last year, pull the trigger. No one is sending us a legit 2nd line NHL forward or Top 4 defenseman for Stafford now. He's value will never be that high again.
  9. Mike Harrington ‏@BNHarrington Pysyk is here and in lineup tonight wearing 53. Got here this morning from Toronto. #Sabres "53." I love the wacky numbers. Now I'm definitely looking forward to this game.
  10. Just watched this. Pretty epic, even if most of the attempts were lame.
  11. Playing him more to drive up his trade value would require that the entire organization recognize how terrible they are, formulate a plan to turn the franchise around, and then coordinate to enact that plan. The Sabres aren't capable of even ONE of those steps. Darcy Regier is still pretty sure we're not that bad and that we're just about ready to make a run, and Terry Pegula had to return to his home planet because they needed him there. And Ted Black is somewhere flipping through a thesaurus to find more words to use to reassure fans that the organization is absolutely, positively doing everything it can to win (for really!!!1!).
  12. We have to trade him, right? He's an alternate captain stuck on the fourth line. There's no way in hell we're hanging onto him to see if he can turn it around in time for his next contract year, right?
  13. Hate you? I think you might be my soulmate.
  14. Only the parts they played on WGR as it happened.
  15. Not according to John Vogl earlier today: John Vogl ‏@BuffNewsVogl There have been no discussions between the Sabres and Quebec Remparts about sending Mikhail Grigorenko back to juniors, according to source. John Vogl ‏@BuffNewsVogl Let me say the Quebec Remparts are surprised by this announcement. Makes me wonder who Vogl's source is and how many people other there knew what was going on.
  16. If this was the plan all along, why were the Quebec Remparts surprised to hear the news a couple hours ago? Wouldn't there have been some communication between the two teams, if not coordination? We're 27 games into the season and there have already been three really confusing situations caused by management. The first was all the confusion after Grigorenko's fifth game. The team didn't seem like they had any idea what they were going to do and finally made an announcement in the afternoon. (And I think they linked the decision to them needing a center right now, not anything about how well he'd played.) The second was how they fired Ruff. He coached the team all morning, met with high school students, drove home, .....and then Regier drove over and fired him. And now they've caught Grigorenko's QMJHL team off-gaurd by sending him back. They're making big decisions seemingly on the fly. As usual, there's no plan at all.
  17. Just saw this on Kea and Catenacci: Kris Baker ‏@SabresProspects Two Sabres prospects cited in OHL West Coaches Poll. Dan Catenacci t-3rd in Hardest Worker category. Justin Kea 3rd in Best on Face-offs.
  18. This year's trades should be a lot like last year's trades. He's not really going to trade prospects for veterans, is he? Regehr, Leopold, Stafford, and Hecht should all be moved for picks/prospects.
  19. All the more impressive since Adam Erne is supposed to be a first round draft pick this year (somewhere between 11 and 20).
  20. Because it was always BS?
  21. I assume that when the QMJHL playoffs end for him (and I have no idea how deep the Remparts are supposed to go), they'll just send him to the AHL to actually get some playing time rather than go back to being Buffalo's 4th line center or whatever the hell they were doing.
  22. Does Darcy understand that he's a complete joke to the fans? I know he doesn't care, but does he know how many of the fans (most?) see him as a guy with no vision or plan or idea for winning the Stanley Cup?
  23. We are a really well-run organization. You say "again" like they ever stopped being stupid.
  24. In some threads, the bold part is an insanely controversial thing to say. I think people do realize the chances of most prospects making it are really small. But in the meantime, it doesn't hurt to get excited about the ones that seem to be progressing nicely. And the Sabres have done a pretty good job finding talent in the later rounds.
