  1. I wonder if anyone in the media will mention this when he speaks in a few minutes and try to pry something out of him.
  2. They must feel like Jack is cut from the same mold to offer that... This is typical of any NY sports team, probably because of the huge media circus surrounding them. The Yankees are notorious for pumping up their scrubs like they're the greatest thing since sliced bread. Meh. BTW, as others have stated, if the NYR do not absolutely blow GMKA out of the water with an offer that is head and shoulders above everyone else's, then I tell them to go pound sand. They are going to pay me an Eastern Conference and 'big city' premium to get their star into MSG or they can leave me alone. The mere fact that they're still in on this says that they will pay. Call their bluff because I don't have to deal. I'd tell them that, if they're serious, any deal includes Lafreniere. Period. If they say "no", I tell them "don't call back until Lafreniere is on the table because it's the only way you're getting your foot in the door...and you can shove Kaapo Kakko straight up your arse." <click>
  3. So "a wh*re's bath"...
  4. Messed up/got wrong.
  5. Exactly. You have to crawl before you can walk. Let the crawl start with Ullmark. It's a nice start. Why does signing him preclude them from signing another good or even better goalie?
  6. GMKA: "Linus...trust me when I say, we're not trading 'jack'..." 🕷️🕸️ Ullmark: "Where do I sign?" 🪰
  7. Me personally...my expectations are that when they call a press conference, I can hear both the questions and the answers. No more, no less. I'm not looking for some great revelation but, if they want the public engaged in their message, make it worth my while to tune in with the ability to hear what you want to say.
  8. Thank you. My first thought was, "In today's day and age...with all of the technology present, you still can't find a way to have the questions audible on TV?!" What the hell is the point in televising it if you have no context of what is being asked? Absolutely horrible.
  9. I was thinking the same, Taro. The fact that nothing seems to be coming out of either this revamped front office or Granato gives me a glimmer of hope that maybe they are finally figuring out how to take a page from the football side of the Pegs' house. It's been tough to give this organization the benefit of the doubt but I'm hoping that's where we're headed...maybe. The next few days are critical and time will tell.
  10. Made with the genuine tears collected from Sabre fans.
  11. They will announce that Perry's Ice Cream will be introducing three new flavors at KeyBank this Fall... 'Jettisoned Jack' 'Shipped Out Sam' and 'Ridded o' Risto'
  12. There seem to be a lot of non-credentialed 'junior psychologists' on this board, NS.
  13. Said every arrogant Ranger fan everywhere... (Yes, I know that 'arrogant' is redundant)
  14. Then Adams should be holding firm on keeping Jack, IMO. I still think that one of these suitors will flinch at the eleventh hour and meet or come close to meeting the Sabres' demands. If they are hell bent on dealing Eichel, a deal including Zegras and the 3OA would get a lot of people excited, me included.
  15. Google is your friend: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nhl/news/nhl-expansion-draft-2021-full-list-of-players-available-seattle-kraken/ipkgjt2eq5vx13rsis7ae6g62
  16. Some people just need a reason to be angry, I guess. Anyone who believes that all of this franchise's woes are a result of Jack Eichel is completely delusional. They were a dysfunctional mess long before he arrived.
  17. Lunatics gonna rave...
  18. That's about where I fall on the Borgen spectrum. I'm hoping he's not taken but I won't lose any sleep if he is. I don't think anyone believes that Skinner will be the choice unless GMKA made a deal with Seattle to take him off of the team's hands. Even then, the Sabres would probably retain some salary so what's the point? Not happening.
  19. Baseball has done the same thing. As useful as analytics are, they should be just one of the tools in the bag used to support and verify a position not the be all end all for making personnel decisions. The 'eye test' still has its place in sports evaluation.
