  1. Unfortunately, what we want and what we get are often two different things.
  2. If not, it might look a little clunky replacing the rocket ship with this...
  3. Is that one of those plastic kiddie 'Firehouse Subs' fireman's helmets perched on his dome?
  4. "Certainly we'd love to have Jack leading the way for us us next year but, again, we're in the process of evaluating the entire organization and readying for free agency and the draft with the full intention of moving forward with players who want to be here and contribute to a winning culture..." Translation: Here are a lot of buzz words with no new or useful information in hopes of appeasing the fans who want to keep Jack as well as those who want him traded.
  5. Maybe the most anticlimactic coaching hire in team history. It's neither thrilling nor disappointing, IMO, and I think the majority of fans probably thought it was coming to this. Like it or not, we have no choice but to accept it and hope that he can turn things around. Good luck, HCDG...you're going to need it.
  6. It would be great if they did it for the 14th home game of the season. I am truly saddened. To this day, 'The French Connection' are my most cherished Sabres memory. I was a 6 (and 7) year old kid during the team's inaugural season in 1970. My dad, a Dunkirk native, had recently gotten out of the Air Force and moved us back to WNY that year after a brief stay in Warren, PA. I spent my formidable years growing up as a diehard Bills, Sabres, and Buffalo Braves fan in the 1970s and those Sabre teams will forever hold a special place in my heart. RIP, Mr. Robert. You were a class act and a great ambassador of the Buffalo Sabres. You will be missed but never forgotten.
  7. I realize you probably said this tongue-in-cheek but that would be par for the course in the dysfunctional town of Pegulaville, would it not?
  8. (Mods feel free to take down or merge if this has already been posted. I didn't see anything) A lot of things make me feel old and you can add this one to the list... "The final game at the Aud was April 14, 1996 against the Hartford Whalers, a game in which the Sabres won, 4-1. Everyone in attendance or even watching on television felt goosebumps as Pat LaFontaine put the ceremonial final puck in the net and the lights going out to close the Aud." https://thehockeywriters.com/remembering-old-friend-buffalo-memorial-auditorium/
  9. Well, as long as it was what was best for Hall... (sarcasm off)
  10. The only one who came to mind when I posed that question was Cozens and I'm not sure that a kid with his level of inexperience would take a run at someone with Hall's veteran stature and league standing (like him or not). Regardless, this organization is a mess and seemingly seems to be continuing its spiral in the wrong direction. It's like standing by helplessly watching a loved one painfully pass.
  11. Does anything really surprise you with this inept organization at this point? Just beyond sad.
  12. Will anybody currently on the Sabres roster take a run at him?
  13. Claimed by Ottawa. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/senators-claim-victor-mete-off-waivers-canadiens/
  14. A fan can dream. 😄
  15. Just telling you what he said. He claimed that he "knows for sure" that the Blackhawks were interested in obtaining him from Boston.
  16. Nick Kypreos just said on 'The Instigators' that Chicago is interested in Bjork. Will the Sabres flip him today?
  17. Nick Kypreos is saying that Chicago is interested in Bjork.
  18. You really can't make this stuff up when it comes to this franchise. It's gotten beyond ridiculous. Just when you think it can't get any worse...
  19. Q (John Wawrow): "What contributed to this decision knowing that you were essentially handcuffed in terms of what you can do with the roster, what you can do with the limited number of coaches that are available to take over on an interim basis, and knowing that you're still in this tough East Division where knowing that winning might be difficult and knowing the injuries that you're dealing with...what gives you a belief that this team can continue growing, I guess, under an interim coach and have different results than what's been behind it?" A (Kevyn Adams):"We have to be better in every single are of this organization...it starts with me. Let'.s..let's...I need to manage better, okay? I need to be better in every way. We need to coach better, we need to scout better, we need to develop players better. We need to practice better. I mean, you name it...we need to do it better. Period. And, I said it a couple of weeks ago...it's unacceptable, um, in every area and, so why did we do it? Well, we're doing it because we feel that we have to start to improve and, of course, results matter. This is a results business and, where we are is unacceptable...it speaks for itself. But it's deeper than that. And to change the culture and to do what we need to do to get this headed in the right direction, I felt this was the move we had to make regardless of all those things that you mentioned. Because that's all real, everybody knows that. You know, but that's...I don't know if that answers it perfectly, John, but that's what's in my head right now."
  20. Can see &/or hear it on 'The Instigators'/WGR550.
