  1. @PASabreFan crystallized it and now I’m even more pissed off. How’d that conversation go? JFC. A few hundred people are hollering to “fire Donny”, so it’s “f*ck all y’all”? The worst. Oh, and then go “unnamed” when you confirm it to a reporter. THE WORST. Holy sh1t, if doctors and other health care professionals were this soft …
  2. This gets at the root of what I’m saying. Not just soft. They’re fu*king idiots. Hmm. Interesting take. How did this evolve? It used to be something done on special occasions, and then became more routine?
  3. I figured this deserves its own thread. Harrington quotes an unnamed veteran Sabre (gotta be Okposo), who confirms that, after the “fire Donny” chants amidst the 9-# loss to Columbus, the team decided to stop the stick salute to fans after a win. What in the actual fu*k. When does the no-salute policy stop, Kyle? What’s your endgame here, you dipsh1t? Look, you get to retire and go do whatever the fu*k you’re gonna do, but this is my hometown team. And you and your equivocal soft ass leadership is helping to atomize it.
  4. Also: There are plenty of “anonymous” quotes in the article, but I don’t want to implicate copyright issues by dumping all that verbiage here.
  5. It took a while, but Harrington looked into this. I love how the “veteran Sabre” asked to be nameless but you can absolutely tell who’s confirming that the team decided to snub the fans in order to support Donny (it’s clearly Okposo). https://buffalonews.com/sports/professional/nhl/sabres/buffalo-sabres-nhl-don-granato-columbus-blue-jackets-toronto-maple-leafs/article_97abb70c-cc5a-11ee-8ab4-1f71e58cc14c.html “It reached a breaking point with the “Fi-re Don-ny” chants directed at coach Don Granato during a 9-4 loss to Columbus on Dec. 19. The locker room was severely rankled by that outburst and, apparently, the response has been a postgame snub of the fans. Given anonymity so he could speak freely, a veteran Sabre said simply that the team made a decision to stick together in support of its coach.” A team decides to snub the fans based on some of the fans audibly expressing frustration. This is the most toxic franchise in North American pro sports and you can’t convince me otherwise. And that “unnamed veteran player” is a sh1t leader. Take off, hoser.
  6. I think your definition of “offence” is too narrow. But the point above is well-taken.
  7. I was in Florida around this time last year for a little vacation. I watched both the Panthers and Lightning games - both wins. One of them involved an OT goal by Lybushkin (?) - a goal that prompted Rob Ray to laugh in spite of himself (like a right jolly old elf). That was fun.
  8. The fault here is in the reader, not the creator. At least I'm getting to a point where I can sense that I'm missing a subtle PA joke. Also: Gold, Jerry!
  9. I was just riffing off @shrader calling for battery replacement in an alarm. *chirp* I took @atoq's suggestions as satirical. (Or am I now missing your joke?)
  10. Interesting. I'd heard as well that this draft is just lousy with good WR prospects. I'd presumed that meant that the Bills would look to get big value at the end of Round 1. But maybe it means they feel they can wait until Round 2 or 3. I think they should be drafting two of them (WRs), anyway.
  11. Two of the more accurate mock drafters out there (according to The Huddle Report anyway) - Matthew Jones (Fantasy Pros) and Eddie Brown (San Diego Tribune) - have the Bills going Edge in Round 1, rather than WR. Jones predicts Braswell out of Alabama. Brown predicts Robinson out of Penn State.
  12. Another tie to the 4 Humours! This one must have something to do with one of the two forms of "bile" (or what they thought was bile 500 years ago or whatever). One of the forms of "bile" would tie into being choleric. "Words. Words. Words." - Hamlet
  13. One thing seems certain: The Bills will need to release Tre White. Cap hit of $16M, but dead money of only $4M. Perhaps he'd re-sign here after being released? I'm not sure a restructure would even make sense. Total bummer, since he's one of my all-time favourite Bills.
  14. https://billswire.usatoday.com/lists/buffalo-bills-offseason-needs-2024-brandon-beane-stefon-diggs-nfl/ DT DaQuan Jones, LB Leonard Floyd, DE Jordan Phillips, DE Shaq Lawson, DE A.J. Epenesa, DT Tim Settle, DT Linval Joseph, DT Poona Ford, S Micah Hyde, S Taylor Rapp, and CB Dane Jackson are among the Bills’ unrestricted free agents.
  15. ALSO: We don't yet know what the 2024 cap will be.
  16. These are good questions! I have no real idea how the NFL cap works. I hear all the time that it's "not real." I think that overstates matters a bit. Chickens do eventually come home to roost. Here's a screenshot of a chart that Pro Football Focus published in late January. The first red number is cap space. The second red number is "effective cap space." The third number is "active cap spending." The fourth number is "dead money." https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-salary-cap-tracker-2024-offseason-free-agency-all-32-nfl-teams-ranked-cap-space
  17. Also, I have no idea why the letters STA entered into our GIF service return such an interesting group of images (in motion).
  18. I await good news on the WR acquisition front. No more of this Deonte Harty b.s. either.
  19. See ya, 2023!
  20. Less than sanguine, for sure. And this team could use a player who's truly bilious. I always enjoyed references to the auld quack science surrounding "the four humours" (blood, "phlegm" (not what we would call phlegm today), and ... 2 kinds of bile (yellow and ... something else)).
  21. I'm linking it here, since it's difficult for me to come up with a decent 50 cent word unless inspired to do so.
  22. There's a difference between being derivative and being an aggregator that judiciously deploys content you've learned along the way.
