    The same thought occurred to me. Not mocking, though. More just like taking their turn on it. As someone else noted upthread: Those tandems are available at Canalside. The fellas probably just did it on the spur of the moment.

    That is an excellent choice. It may be mine as well -- I will need to reflect on that a bit. I'd have thought a brown ale would be my all-time favorite. I had a few Edmund Fitz's this past summer while in the 216 (on a cool night (typical of the summer past, really)). And the beer was so, so ... SO good, and so perfect for the situation, that I had to like ... just STOP, and be like, DAMN, this is good. Duly noted. Thanks.

    For the sake of discussion: Maybe I (the league) can and will tell you (a team) how it can defend if the on-ice product (shooting at heads in a clogged middle) that all of you (the teams) are creating is, to borrow a phrase from ROR, "brutes." Keep 'em coming.

    G = goalie? And, yes. I think there's a chance the Sabres have to endure some growing pains. I just hope they stick with it and see it through, rather than retreat to being a passive lackluster team.

    fair point. the difference being: we now know what that wound up translating into for Bylsma. with housley, there is hope that it means what he says. additionally, bylsma's pronouncements were also accompanied with his talk of chip and chase and small ice.

    "We wanna be fast and aggressive." God, I hope he can make it work. OTOH, there's only so much a team can do against the 1-3-1, or even the 1-4, or whatever -- McDavid recently said as much. At a minimum, at least we're not hearing about the need to get the opposing D to turn around and then win battles on "small ice." Christ -- Dreary Dan and FGMTM were really of a mind on that, weren't they?

    This is how I inferred he was banned. I saw him as the last commentator on certain threads here, and the link associated with the screen name was dead.

    Here's the thing: If he were designated as the person who started the thread, he could delete it, right? But I am confident that he was not credited as the starter of that thread. Otherwise, it would have been a mod move. And the mods can reverse that, and bring back the old thread. I think that's the case, anyway. Oh, and jeffismagic's been ban-hammered.

    I think it's an intriguing idea, and would not quash it because of perceived enforcement concerns. They can figure out a way to enforce it.

    Good thought experiment indicated here. The thing that had occurred to me was also related to basketball. They outlawed zone or most zones in the NBA, right? The NHL should look at something like that. Something that will tend to open up the game more. Who doesn't wanna see Eichel in an isolation with a hapless 5/6 d-man? It's crazy. But I like sorta it.

    I think I understand that, for some/many, this sort of unbridled dewy-eyed optimism is a little tongue in cheek, a little jokey. I guess I'm thinking Wildcard. And also of myself, frankly. And maybe Flagg? Anyhoo. It occurred to me a in a brief flash just now (a mental one -- not a creep in a trench coat): What's the harm or downside in being on board (fully or otherwise), at least until the wheels come off?
