  1. I know it's been discussed upthread, but holy shlamoley. NFW this ever happens. Ever.
  2. I am confusion. I mean: Jack has the C now. Is there a scenario in which the C is given to Dahlin, Jack remains on the team, and all is well in Sabreville?
  3. Holy cripes that was fast. Deserved, though. Thus far, his main use to the team seems to be driving around all the other Swedes in his GMC Suburban. #godfather
  4. ^ I think both can be true. Meant to shoot. Whiffed. Immediately realized his teammate would sweep up after him.
  5. One of my older kids put me onto this tune, albeit inadvertently. No idea who this dude is -- but this track is tight as hell. I just read a whole book on the history of prog rock - but didn't see this outfit mentioned. Who are they?
  6. What game is this from? I can't view the media.
  7. If what you're saying, implying is true - I'm not so sure about this.
  8. But how, as a practical matter, can such a transition occur?
  9. Interesting takes. I want to believe these things. But my eyes are telling me something else. OTOH, this may largely be a product of what you’re suggesting: There are not yet enough talented, mature (Mittlestadt) players on the roster. This is a one-team line — opposing teams know that. Slow down the game, upright posture, unorthodox often rocking on his heels skating style. Maybe. But maybe not, entirely?
  10. Honestly, having him be a cut above Pierre would give me comfort at this point.
  11. Based on this guy's status as a prospect, is there any chance that someone, some day, will resurrect a version of the greatest Sabres in-arena (-auditorium) "fan sign" that I ever personally saw? MIKE PECA IS BIGGER THAN YOUR PECA.
  12. Great breakdown. There are hockey fan bois who like to get all hot and lathered over Risto's off-season workouts -- clips from social media where the Finnish freak, like, fells tall trees by flinging big truck tires at them -- but the issue with Risto has never been his strength, speed, and such. He is super dumb on the ice. Like, an idiot.
  13. I do think some of that could be going on. But I also see times when -- regardless of what's going on around him -- Eichel looks like he's sort of half-assing whatever he's doing.
  14. What are you. Some sort of reasonable person?
  15. so many threads
  16. Sabres signed Matej Pekar to an ELC. I actually though that had already been posted here because I saw the thread high up in the queue.
  17. I bet he does. There's still hope. Perhaps a good bit more than a fool's hope. He's gotta get his head wrapped around maintaining a higher level of sustained intensity in his play. It's there sometimes. And then other times, not.
  18. Housley may not be a solution at the HC position. But, more and more, I am resolved that the biggest issue with the Sabres is player-related. This is Jack Eichel's team. Does this team reflect its captain's game, his play, his intensity, and so forth? I sorta think so, thus far.
  19. T. Pegula has expressed agreement with that theory, in the past.
  20. Good take. I'll agree that Okposo does not belong the power play.
  21. I see that, too, with Okposo. I see an honest, full effort. I don't know that he'll ever get back to where he was before his incident -- some of that is just a function of age, I suspect. I was on board with those calling for the matter of the captaincy to be tabled until such time as Dahlin might take it on.
  22. Amen. This is Jack's team. Time to put up or shut up, young man. I watched the 1st and a bit of the second. I think Okposo knows how to give an honest, full effort, night in and night out. As for the balance of the holdover core, I'm not so sure.
