  1. I'll never get the hue and cry about "such and such is crap." Man, I drink everything. In moderation, hopefully. I treasure an ice cold Miller Lite (or 2) after hot yard work (I mean, like, yard work where it's hot outside). The bold porter is my favourite style of beer (it took a while to figure this out). I have a dirty thirty of Genny Light in the basement at any given time. Shiner Bock is perfectly serviceable.
  2. God. Just launch that guy into the sun. As if the game’s not dangerous enough as it is.
  3. That was pretty freakin' sweet. Fellas.
  4. Hoo man, I think that's not a fit. Allen is a big fella with excellent athleticism and superior arm talent. Fitzmagic is a more normal sized guy with slightly better than average athleticism (for an NFL QB) and a less than average arm.
  5. From what I saw, Allen remains a significantly flawed, highly athletic QB who has ... how you say ... moxie. That sort of signal caller is probably enough to get a team 7-8 wins (maybe 9) provided the D is excellent. He needs to improve, and improve a lot, if he's going to be an entrenched QB capable of leading a team to 10+ win seasons.
  6. He looks like a good one.
  7. Agreed on Mosley. I am genuinely unsure if the Bills win that game if he doesn't blow his groin on that pass defense in the end zone (in which he made a fantastic play). Darnold's floor is, what, Andy Dalton? I have no idea what his ceiling is. Scouts love a sure thing. And, yes, the Bills D is good. A lil recency bias, maybe. Hyde has been amazing. J Brown has work to do to supplant him as the best FA addition.
  8. (In fairness, the screen cap above is from last season.)
  9. Teams don't give up a draft pick so they can mine a guy for information on the playbook. They wait for cuts to do that. This was a swing and a miss for the Pats.
  10. Holy Christ was that awful entertainment. With each season, I feel myself drifting away from NFL football. Hell, I only do my FFB leagues out of a sense of social obligation.
  11. Because of a big clean hit? Disagree that that’d be a thing.
  12. And touch is perhaps distinct from accuracy. Interesting to note, in any case. Comparing preseason action to regular season play is perilous. But I think the line play has to be improved.
  13. I think that you're over-simplifying matters (for the sake of making a point, I infer), but I think the point you are making is a good one. And here's where I think you're acknowledging that good coaching is a bit more than firing the boys up and telling them to go skate through the boards. Because that's about all Teddy ever did.
  14. Hmm. I agree with this, to a point. Generally speaking, I buy into the theory that it's a far better management practice to focus on featuring (and developing) a person's strengths than it is to devote a lot of energy trying to shore up weaknesses. The latter is generally a fool's errand. Now, I'm not sure if Allen is naturally strong or weak at throwing the kinds of routes that Beasley will, can run. My point is simply that, from all indications, Allen's never going to be known for pinpoint accuracy. Shoot. He may at best top out at being a top-of-the-bottom-third for overall QB accuracy. Just identify and play to his strengths is all I'm asking.
  15. Yep. I think (think) the Bills are smart enough to play to Allen's strengths, and avoid his weaknesses. There are only a small handful of QBs like Luck, P. Manning, Brady, Brees, etc. Allen is never going to be in the mold of any of them. I'm hoping to see some sort of evolution of Cam Newton.
  16. ^ I can identify with not caring (or knowing) enough about SEA to really, really care about how that team uses Russell Wilson. But it is interesting, as a Bills fan, to take a deep-ish dive into a team that schemes to be run-heavy and feature a QB with a somewhat limited (but powerful) skill set.
  17. Yo, @Randall Flagg - my thanks. Very interesting read. In sum, the author posits: ”Any argument for overhauling the passing game and putting more responsibility on Wilson’s shoulders ignores that he has excelled in the current style of scheme and struggled outside of it.”
  18. ^ Diggin the slow jam vibe. OHHHHHH YEAH.
  19. It is hard to disagree with this. If a team has one of the league's best quarterbacks, then why, in a league that has consistently evolved to favor the forward pass, is that team often among the lower half of the league in passing attempts? It is hard to disagree with this. If a team has one of the league's best quarterbacks, then why, in a league that has consistently evolved to favor the forward pass, is that team often among the lower half of the league in passing attempts? OTOH, maybe part of Wilson's efficiency rating is the fact that he doesn't throw the ball a ton?
  20. Even without knowing much of anything, I still don't think it's that simple. Something about there being more than one way to skin a cat, and such.
