  1. I've come to the following conclusion on my view of Reinhart: I have vague, speculative biases that want to convince me that, in fact, he's a self-satisfied silver-spoon underachiever. Thinks a lot of himself. Thinks he's "doing the work," when, in fact, he doesn't know that he doesn't know he's not doing the work needed. But ball don't lie, as they say. The assist on the first goal was absolutely top-notch. The smarts. The vision. The hands. I think maybe he's just good. Good enough to be a good team's RW1, most likely.
  2. Great post. And this tidbit is right in-line with what I saw. Holy Moses was he out of control there to start the 2nd, and then, just like that, back under control. Very solid showing on his part.
  3. ^ @SDS if that clip is potentially problematic, just let me know. (Too funny and too apt not to post.)
  4. I was just saying @LGR4GM didn’t get Taro’d. However, it appears I did.
  5. Lotta chumming with the broskis. Nothing wrong with that. Unless, of course, it's matched with a sneaky level of self-satisfaction.
  6. I do believe they had a place (townhouse) together. But with Casey based in Roch, there must be some other arrangement. Perhaps Casey's "living" in a long-term hotel type facility.
  7. Well, wait. There's something a little more to this, potentially. Those 2 were absolutely joined at the hip as NHLers. They would constantly show up in each other's social media content. Maybe Casey being in the A has allowed/prompted Dahlin to refocus a bit?
  8. It is always nice to beat the effin' Stars. Let's go, Buffalo!
  9. Well, there's ticking off the mods, and then there's putting the site's proprietor in a bad operational spot.
  10. I mean - who are they? Are "they" the people who posted jiggly gifs even after @SDS said "please don't"? If so - gotcha.
  11. This seems frickin' bizarre on the part of Vegas. Then again, they've been super successful since they came in the league, so ... maybe they know what they're doing.
  12. Agreed and agreed. I think it's fair to say that the Bills DC and D did an even better job than the Titans did. So, we'll see how he responds. It's funny. I heard Warren Sharp talking about how there was a "book" out on Mahomes and how the way to beat him is based in heavy man-coverage (and some other nuances, obviously). Something about how the Colts showed how it was done in a playoff game (last year?) and how some other teams had replicated it. Then when the Texans got up big, I thought to myself: Man, maybe it's true? Ha. Hold the phone. Anyhoo, I am rambling. Mahomes is a much more complete QB than Jackson. Making all the throws and such. Jackson is obviously an insanely dynamic athlete, and a good (not great) passer. It will be interesting to see how this evolves.
  13. I love the human female form as much as the next hetero fella, but ... c'mon. Our fearless leader made a respectful request to refrain from posting the content (and even provided legit reasons). That oughta end it. The content is also, and I'll say it, not that interesting and/or amusing, as being presented and discussed.
  14. I saw only bits and pieces. They looked like a solid team - against one of the league’s best! The Eichel goal was other worldly. I had no idea what happened when I saw it in real time. And I still can’t believe he did that. @PASabreFan: Rahhkruuuuu!
  15. I acknowledge that. I’ve come to conclude that the pundits who landed in that camp were participating in hive-takery.
  16. Not unfair. But, man. That ROR move was *such* a stinker. Beyond the pale. In hindsight, it seems like it has non-hockey-influence written all over it.
  17. Interesting takes and insights. Something tells me that the reason(s) the franchise and Lafontaine are so estranged now has more to do with what happened a few years ago and the personalities involved than it does with the extent to which Pegula was (not) a fan of the 90s Sabres. From a corporate asset standpoint, it is an indefensible waste of valuable goodwill not to get 16 back in the fold. Sabre fans loved Lafontaine, and many still do (and would). I was mostly out of town myself during those years. But, man, the few times I got to the old place and see the Lafontaine/Mogilny + May/Ray/Boughner edition of the team? That was fun, fun stuff. It just seemed like most nights were 5-3 scores with one or two dandy scraps.
  18. I remain unclear on how and why he left. In any case, the guy’s one of the team’s all-time greats. I would expect them to patch things up, at least so they can function normally for stuff like the 50th season. But no.
  19. It's entirely possible that Terry had an honest, genuine affection for the Sabres of the late 70s and early 80s, etc., *and* that he later developed a fandom for (and loose business association with) the Penguins as they cycled through the excellence of Mario/Jaromir and then Crosby/Malkin. In fact, it makes a lot of sense. The two are far from mutually exclusive. Dude's a meddler. I thought that was conclusively adjudged?! The question is the extent to which he meddles. I've turned over the ROR thing in my head more times than I care to admit, and the only logical explanation I accept is that ownership compelled it. There are other possible explanations, but they don't make sense (which does not mean that a nonsensical trade happened - just that I think the only logical, rational explanation is that Terry and/or Kim decided ROR had to go because he was too mopey and sad (and they didn't want to pay a mopey, sad guy a huge bonus)). Please - it's Paddy. Patty is an aunt of mine who makes a terrific tater tot casserole. God bless her heart. And, not for nothing, Paddy remains persona non grata. I saw some Tweet about how he was conspicuously absent from creative content created for the the 90s era game. Super weird.
  20. Meh? Don't get me wrong. The Sabres appear to be mired in mediocrity (a couple of elite young talents, a streaky overpaid goal scorer, and not much else), and I just don't perceive their path out of this rut. So, yeah. The Pegulas as owners of the Sabres for, lo, these past 9 years (NINE!), have pretty much shat the bed. But, by all accounts, they're not crooks like Haslam.
