  1. Great preview - thank you, @jsb. As ever and always: Let's Go Buffalo!
  2. I hear you. The Skinner signing felt like a mistake to me at the time, although I clung to hope that he'd just stay pegged to Jack's line and make it work. I can't see the Eichel long-term signing as a mistake. Well, maybe the long-term aspect of it was regrettable. It seems like more players in the league are now accepting shorter deals (?). Anyway. He is just a terrific player - a legitimate 1C. But it may be that he's been miscast here in Buffalo. It may be that he's not temperamentally suited to being the Captain, the face of the franchise, and so on.
  3. I'm there as well. I'm not near smart enough to know what the correct combination of moves would be, but I am by now open to any and all changes, which certainly includes a sale of the franchise by the current owners. I'm not holding my breath on that one. I'm just saying - nothing's off limits in my mind anymore.
  4. I appreciate the OP's sentiment. I'm fairly numb to what this team is, what it does. It's a fascinating study in ineptitude at this point. It occurred to me over the past few days: FGMTM and FGMJBOTT have each left a legacy of a bad (or even brutal) contract. The team has nearly 20% of its cap space tied up in a pair of players who are not contributing and/or can't meaningfully contribute to a winning team. That is some sh1t, man.
  5. Eichel is a notorious slow starter, nah?
  6. Really good post. I liked this especially because I need to feel better after watching most of that absolute clunker last night. Sheesh.
  7. UM TWINS! edit: the .gif above was retrieved from the embedded .gif finder. 👼
  8. I thought they was made by their parents.
  9. Let tonight be the night that the actual score catches up a bit with the #fancystats 5-2 Sabres! Four goals at ES.
  10. I love the Costello song - have not heard it in a long, long time. LFG, Sabres!!
  11. I go with places like Pew Research, and my own sense things.
  12. Agreed. It's nice when the stats line up with what you're seeing, or what you think you're seeing, anyway. It does surprise me a bit that the quality of shots surrendered is so low -- they just seem scrambly or sloppy at times (maybe just inopportune times).
  13. I'm putting X more toward 1980, is all. I don't place millennials in the 70s, either.
  14. Couldn’t find the RaKru system thread, so I’ll plunk this here:
  15. I think Xers are a bit broader than that.
  16. Trigger is all Gen Z, bruv.
  17. ^ Oy. That's an odd one. The thing about "personal reasons" is that it gets used in all kids of situations, so it's hard to read what happened here.
  18. I'm not saying that's strange. Quite the contrary. I infer that he can't get coaching work, like, anywhere. And that he's gone looking for it. That seems weird.
  19. yeah, i reckon that's right. he won the jack adams, so ... that is something, obviously. i think that success was partly a function of lightning in a bottle, partly a function of a different era of hockey. but he seems solid in the leadership and mentoring categories. the fact that he goes wanting for a gig is very strange.
  20. I always liked Ted. I'm not sure he's cut out to be an NHL coach, but I liked him. It definitely fails the smell test that he's not coaching somewhere (i.e., in the AHL, ECHL, Major Juniors).
  21. I like what I see when I watch them, mostly. The defence still seems a bit scrambly at times. But I like them through the neutral zone and in the other team's zone. If they can get just a bit more good fortune, they will put together a 5-game winning streak.
  22. TSN's doing a feature of Ted Nolan. Check out this excerpt re his second stint in Buffalo. https://www.instagram.com/p/CKjZf_OgXuD/?igshid=if87d5873102
  23. @deluca67.500 is in sight. Get it!
  24. The CBS crew did a good job of elucidating the fact that the Bills receivers just weren’t getting open. 😔
