Happy Birthday, young buck. By the way, the footage of him on the Twitter doing the red-solo-cup-magic-trick on ... Zack Moss (?) is pretty great. Without being Pollyanna-ish, it's another example of why he's got the leadership thing element firmly within his grasp.

Pegulas suing to keep Strength and Conditioning Coach in the country
That Aud Smell replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I follow you, I think. It is becoming sort of a never-ending tail-chasing exercise to keep pol1t1cs out of every thread. -
Yeah - I reckon I missed that nuance (?). I'm not sure what the patriot stuff is about, tbh. I guess so long as no one's accurately alluding to home addresses, we good?
-
Yeah - that ain't it. Whither the mods?

Ed should have stuck to taking his horse out for a night on the town.

Ah, yes. Good catch. That's probably right. Based on the report I read, that definitely sounded like the situation - they found it following a search of the vehicle.

The news about Oliver is discouraging, but not distressing. The report implied that he may have been impaired by a substance other than alcohol. And he had an open container of beer in the car. Not great. The pistol is hardly surprising. Not having it licensed is dumb.

God bless, and may the odds be in your favour.

I'm not sure what exactly that chart shows. The guy who posted it essentially said "take it with a grain of salt." As others pointed out in the replies: That chart encompasses more than just wide receivers. Also, that chart doesn't reveal how "drops" are being assessed. There's dropping a ball that Brees float-zip-dropped into your hands, and then there's dropping a ball that is technically catchable but was needlessly rocketed at or just above your head.

^ One pair of story lines I don’t quite get: (1) The Bills had a bottom of the barrel set of wide receivers last season. (2) The Bills have arguably the best set of (3) wide receivers this* season. One or the other could be true, but not both. My guess is that neither is true.

Or is "Pedants" here being deployed as a plural adjectival noun?
-
Right. And there's a certain level of obliviousness (?), or lack of critical (obsessive?) thinking that is part of that risk-taking capacity. Ha. I will add: It's possible to dial that stuff back a bit. But it's damn near impossible to install it if just ain't there.

The things that give me hope for the guy is that he markedly improved his intermediate passing in year 2 (so, he showed he can improve on areas of weakness), he's got natural leadership abilities (his teammates like (love?) him and will play for him), and he seems to have the requisite balance of intelligence and ... rock headedness that seem to be the hallmarks of most successful QBs. As to the latter point, if you listen to the Pardon My Take podcast, this is a running joke from PFT: You want your QB to be smart, but not too smart.

I discount a Josh Allen opinion/take from anyone - pundit, fan, or otherwise - who's come to any kind of firm conclusion on what Josh Allen is and isn't, can or can't be. His ceiling remains some sort of evolution of Cam Newton, which would, IMO, be good enough QB play to win a SB if delivered consistently. His floor is still a scary proposition, though (and includes scenarios in which his play is inconsistent within a season (boom and bust)). So, on the one extreme are the fan bois of #BillsMafia who love to talk about Josh like he's their beer pong bro and scoff at all the h8ers, and on the other extreme are the out of town pencil neck wanna be game film analysts who peddle in Twitter click bait. The truth, such as it is, is somewhere firmly in the middle, for now.

It’s an interesting graph. Take it with a grain of salt though. The exchange here in the replies provides some context:

Fair point/question. I have a somewhat clear memory of Whaley talking about his decision to do what it took to get Watkins. It was something to the effect of showing up at ... what, a practice, a training, and within seconds of setting up camp, Watkins made this ridiculous, elite body control grab near the sideline, and then just jetted past them. Whaley joked "that was all I needed to see." My bet: There were people in the scouting department who did the due diligence and related the warning flags. But they were ignored. I heard an interview recently with ... Daniel Jeremiah, was it? He's a former NFL personnel guy, and he was saying that most scouts are/feel discounted and/or ignored by their FO, which is why they end up leaking information to reporters.

That's ... that's one way of putting it. To me, he sounds like he's suppressing/managing a full-blown psychosis.

I think I'd heard of that particular issue being mentioned. It had to do with a report that front-line hospital docs in NYC were coming to the conclusion that ventilators were often doing more harm than good to patients, whose actual mechanics of breathing were actually okay (or, at least, not in need of a ventilator's support) but who nonetheless remained hypoxic (and it not being the least bit clear why that would or could be the case).

The article that's currently online says that he was "declared symptom-free on April 26." I'm glad that he's on the mend.
-
Here's what he said on Facebook on May 8th:
-
Is he back in the hospital? The article doesn't say that he is. From what I read about this occurring in the far east, it sounded as though people are continuing to test positive based on ... inert (?) vestiges of the virus. The fact that this guy is continuing to feel like sh1t could, then, just be a function of what a nasty virus it is.
-
I will say: If Josh Allen can better manage the hero ball urges and just (consistently) be more consistent, I’d feel good about predicting 10 wins. Here’s hoping!
-
I look at that schedule, and see a losing record. The margins of error in the NFL are razor thin and most teams are very close in terms of overall quality. The Bills are being hyped up. It’s a scenario that screams out for falling short of overdone expectations.
-
The most assertive, self-assured medical voice in my circle proclaimed a couple weeks ago that Florida was gonna be FOOKED. Not so much, it’s turned out. There’s much that’s known about the virus. And it appears that there’s much that’s not known. On the other side of the ledger: That same voice was proclaiming “phew - kids aren’t being affected”. Again, not entirely true, it appears (as the weird inflammatory syndrome hospitalizations in NYC suggest). Has there been discussion herein of how some areas of the world really seemed to get a virulent strain (NYC, Italy), while others seemed to get a less potent one (Seattle?)?
