Certainly not the same (or even a similar) stadium. It's interesting that the $1.4B cost is the upfront number, and the state/county share of that is $850M. It's been reported that the State has ongoing capital improvement and maintenance costs that take the public share north of $1B, over time.

Who are your posters at "The Aud Club"?

What a cool back story and thoughtful post. That's an interesting distribution of respect you have there - it almost seems like they're listed in the order of a continuum of some kind? I'm going to @ them here so that they don't miss the recognition: @LGR4GM @Randall Flagg @dudacek @darksabre @Eleven I have several favourites whose content I seek out here. The most recent poster who's slid into that list is @Broken Ankles - they been bringing it. Shoutout to some of the best whom we've lost along the way. @X. Benedict for starters. -
it is odious, at best.

Jesus, March has been a murderer's row. And still, the Sabres are 7-3 during that time! Let's go, Buffalo! Monkey Whistling! -

Thanks for the details. I'll keep an eye out for those kinds of things. And I'm down with the portion above. I think a strong playoff team can have Tuch as its RW2. I do think he's the next captain. There's nothing wrong with having a strong middle-6 winger in that role. (I also think he's absolutely nothing like Drury.)

food for thought. (the cap is real?)

Yeah - that was the sense of things when the agent-driven "6 years $120M ZOMG" headline gave way to the more sober reality of $51.5M guaranteed over course of first 3 years. He's not a sympathetic figure, I realize, but, more and more (and more), I begrudge pro athletes not a bit for this sort of approach.

Beane is a very skilled, savvy GM. He's not bluffing, and this is nothing like Enron. Beane is doing what most (all?) other GM's do when they are in his position (of competing for a Super Bowl). He's going all in. And with the way cap can be manipulated, there's no real risk of anything cratering. There will probably be a few painful cuts of valuable veterans in the years to come, but the Bills should be able to reload* pretty quickly once this roster has had its chance at winning it all. *The trick is getting the right talent when you do that. Of course, that's always the trick.

It sure seems that way. It's like a malleable fiction. With the malleability being a function of how much money the owners are willing to spend. When you're in a Super Bowl window, that amount seems to be quite a lot. I mean - there are chickens that come home to roost eventually. ... I think.

And content like this just makes me realize that the NFL cap is best left a mystery - let the experts sort it out.

The Bills’ cap situation (compliance) is a total mystery to me.

Davis does not play the slot. McKenzie can play the slot, but his ability to find openings in zone coverage is unknown. Crowder knows how to do that. Can he do it as well as Beasley? And with the same sort of chemistry that Beasley had with Allen? Hopefully.
