  1. Yep. And I generally agree with @Randall Flagg's disappointment with the apparent tone of GMKA's remarks. It may be that GMKA's plan is, in fact, substantially in-line with what Flagg is (and others are also) hoping for. But the messaging is off, if that's the case. And I'm not even sure it is the case.
  2. Ugh. That's too bad.
  3. I'm late to #anthemgate. What happened? The BGMC is generally excellent. Were there technical issues?
  4. I enjoy the high-scoring version of the Buffalo Sabres. And I wonder if - maybe doubt that - such a model is sustainable. Relatedly, I'm ready to see a Sabres team that doesn't look like they're about to have emergency diarrhea when they're defending in their own zone. Sure, I see intensity and urgency. But they frequently end up in a mess.
  5. I couldn't find the right gif. That story was funking wild, man.
  6. I think they are specifically and exclusively targeting people who live in the blackout area.
  7. I think seltzermom contributes to Die By the Blade. seltzermom is a terrific Sabres Twitter resource - very much on the pulse. And then - out of the blue - she will post something like this and (1) I feel super old and (2) I'm left wondering why she'd be surprised that there are horny people out there.
  8. Is she on Twitter as seltzer mom, or some such formulation?
  9. Sabres Twitter made me consider the possibility that Tage isn't returning from his day-to-day UBI because he (1) didn't want to participate in the Pride-themed warmup (for reasons like those of James Reimer) and (2) didn't want to deal with the fallout from declining to participate. I hate the internet sometimes.
  10. who's your provider? it has been years since i had cable - but it was at least ~$150/month when i dropped it. i'd imagine the same package is $200/month now.
  11. fwiw - i tried to do this a few weeks back. my espn+ app said "looks like you have a VPN. access denied." what am i doing wrong?
  12. I checked out for the last 2 games. Then I looked at the wild card standings on Sunday.
  13. He’s a gifted and imaginative performer. I was too young for the ball gown dresses and fox heads from the Genesis days. His show at UB’s Alumni Arena in the mid/late 80s (So tour) was transcendental.
  14. Seems like this has to be the case. Problem is, this is reportedly not the draft in which to do it. (That said, I keep holding out hope that the Bills can happen upon one of those late round WR's who go on to become an All Pro.)
  15. Peter Gabriel's playing at the hockey arena (in Buffalo). Hmm. I'm ambivalent. I worshipped the guy when I was a younger man. I know his material - excepting the material from OVO - backwards and front. But I'm not sure about going to see him at this stage of his career where he will be featuring an album I may not listen to a whole lot.
  16. This makes so much sense. If AZ were to take on a bloated deal like Oliver as part of this trade, they would be getting much better draft assets than they otherwise could.
  17. This turn of events has bummed me the fu*k out in a way that I could not have anticipated. The Sabres keep finding new ways to hurt me.
  18. I’m guessing it’ll be a number ending in “1” — 31, 41, etc.
  19. Over the course of what period of time? In a single season? Or just overall in the aggregate?
  20. How’s that work again?
  21. Hmm. I'd presumed that Danny helped raise the kid. I guess if he didn't help raise the kid then ... oof. Never mind. This isn't a particularly fruitful topic of discussion, as this thread's progress seems to reveal.
  22. I don't doubt that. Exceptions sometimes hint at the rule. Generally speaking, your children are a reflection of what you did (or did not do) to raise them. "Be a credit!" my grandmother used to demand of us.
  23. Danny Briere: Fantastic hockey player. His chops as a dad are … not as clear.
