    Probably not. Lindback was not playing very much anyway, Louis Domingue has been getting the majority of the starts in Arizona. It sounds like Mike Smith is due back by late February/early March.

    I was at this game, there were a TON of Habs fans there but I felt like it helped push the scattered Buffalo fans to step it up a little. I was surrounded by Gallagher and Subban jerseys except for the two guys behind me in Sabres colors. Lot of empty seats too, maybe the weather scared some people off? After the last few stinkers I wasn't feeling very confident for this one but it ended up being a blast, although from my vantage point the boys appeared to be worn out by the third period as they hung on for dear life and made a lot of bad decisions. Lots of sloppy play along the boards and hail mary attempts at clearing the zone instead of looking for the right play to make. Gionta was looking well old by the end. After one of the countless icings Eichel tried the "I need a new stick" trick to buy some time but the ref wasn't having it and made him go line up.

    Gudas took a run at Catenacci with a hit to the head. Got a 5 minute major for that, McCabe instigated a fight with him so it's a 3 minute power play.

    Lehner looks totally lost. I'd say get him out of there but they probably planned on starting Chad tomorrow so he might have to take his lumps.

    Wasn't Flynn the guy where Murray remarked that he was surprised to receive a call from a GM about him? I can't imagine he was traded away for being "too good."

    I can actually see the NHL trying to recreate this every year, completely missing the point of why it was so cool.

    Aside from Pierre McGuire I'm enjoying this well enough so far. Subban swimming around on the ice trying to block stuff was hilarious.

    Lehner finally got his Sabres goaltender welcoming package, a 40+ save performance with half an AHL roster in front of him who can't score.

    I don't mind the skills competition, it's the actual game which is a complete and utter bore to me. Disinterested players going through the motions as Doc Emrick spouts off one cliche after another. Their attempt to change the format is enough to convince me to give it another chance at least. I'll give you Giordano but if you're talking guys who "deserve" to be there, Brent Burns definitely does regardless of there being another Sharks player in the game. 18 goals and 41 points, second in d-man scoring only to Karlsson.

    Johan Larsson's random fight had the crowd stirring last night too. Despite the decline in scraps through the last few years the fans still like to see them, especially if the home team players wins or at least lands a couple while not getting his ass kicked (so Mike Weber need not apply). Hell, I get on my feet even if it's Weber getting pummeled to the ice because at least something's happening.

    Bad third goal on Lehner but he didn't get any help out there (a common theme with the other Swedish goalie we just sent down too). It's unfortunate he chopped his hair off as he looks slightly less like an Amon Amarth band member now.

    I actually can buy that they'd go to some length to remove Scott's eligibility from the ASG too, to protect the sanctity of their annual snoozer. I thought simply leaving him in the AHL would have been enough though?
