I don't believe anyone gets moved.
KA is not trading any of the young players and nobody else has any value on the market.
With one exception... beleive a western Canadian team will make a substantial offer for Savoie.
-
The current group of prospects fit Granato's fast break system where there's very little emphasis on defending or playing a physical brand of hockey. Bigger more physical players must be able to skate and move the puck, ala Eric Robinson.

"Imaging"? On what? His face?

The only thing I'm sure of is they'll win convincingly tonight... then no-show against Vancouver on Saturday.

Finally! The shake-up they most desperately needed!

His skating looks off for some reason, almost like he's breaking in new skates, his turns and pivots look stiff like he struggling to get on his edges.

This team is so predictable. They're guaranteed to win the next game, probably by 5 or 6. Easy team to bet if you're a gambler.

Krakens have given up a total of 6 goals over their last 6 games. Yikes.
I'll say 6-2 Krakens.

It's not coaching. These fuhkers just stop trying. The difference in intensity between teams on the ice hurts my teeth.
It is coaching if they stop trying. No accountability, just keep sending the same guys out there, nothing changes.

This game feels like it could be a turning point for the season.
Do they win 3 in a row for the first time or continue with poor efforts on home ice after a win?

lucky.
They had no business winning that Pitt game. 2 reversed goals, a few goal posts, they gave up 45 shots. UPL son that gane for then, but collectively they played like they have all season.... little attention to detail, egregious defensive lapses, unorganized.

so..... how much do they lose by on Saturday?

@Ogelthorpe @xzy89c1 Savoie got injured in the WHL playoffs before he was drafted. He then got injured in a prospect game the following summer. Keep being upset and stupid because you need that sweet hit of confirmation bias. BTW Savoie didn't even miss a WJC game and ended up playing so for an injury prone guy he sure does play alot of games. Idc anymore because PA was right, this board's quality has dropped.
No it isn't. But hey, don't let facts get in the way of your feelings.
Savoie played against Germany?
Respectfully, he's missed significant time due to injury twice and most recently, 1 WJC game.
If that doesn't raise a flag then fine, but IMO it's a bit of a concern moving forward and needs to be taken into consideration when forecasting where he'll fit into the lineup next season.

i think Samuelson needs to sit a game or two. He is so bad right now. Out of position, bad paases, low effort etc... He is jumping into play so much instead of doing what made him valuable and worth contract extension: play solid defense and make a good fist pass.
Agreed... but there's about a half-dozen guys in front of him in the "shoulda been a healthy scratch" line.
Have a good few seasons, earn a long term contract and never have to worry about being a healthy scratch or missing a shift again no matter how bad you play.
Ryan Johnson gets healthied for that reason alone.... on an ELC, not waiver eligible, so he suffers for no other reason other than there's other guys getting paid more so they must play.
For this franchise it's more about playing they guys they've paid vs winning.

I would say that's as much on Donny as on Erik. Let's see, for instance, what he can do for young Mr. Power.

I'm fine with the patient approach, but at some point these youngsters need to learn how to play a winning brand of hockey. There's no structure to their game and no accountability.
This is shaping up to be a wasted year... if anything they've regressed.
That said there's still time to turn jt around, but I don't believe KA and TP are shrewed enough to take the necessary steps.

It feels like Savoie is a guy that's not gonna pan out. The only thing he's proven is that he can't stay healthy, hope he proves me wrong.

Power is the best player of the three. You are embarrassing yourself with your attacks on a kid that just turned 21 and is still learning how to be consistent in the NHL. This board did the same thing to Dahlin, who is now getting Norris votes. Defensemen take awhile, and for Power he will need help to bring a more physical game.
Was Adams stupid to pay him big money after just 1 season? Yes, and Adams also failed to bring in an effective partner for him that can play top 4 minutes
Cozens will continue to develop and will be a very good 2 way player.
Krebs has no shot, very little offensive upside, and he doesn't scare anyone. He is is playing a role that is absent on the team, but he is not right for that role. He better continue to try hard because he is barely good enough to make bottom 5 team in this league.
Agreed about Power and Cozens.
I believe there's untapped potential with Krebs. He's largely been pigeoned holed into a defensive role. I'd like to see what he can do away from Okposo and Girgensons. Seems like he's just running around trying to create chaos instead of relying on his instincts.

Need a coach.
You can bring in 3 Selke winners and it wont help much given the way they play. Their style reminds me of a team put together for a tournament. Limited time to put in a system, you rely on talent.
Whatever system we have is well known and even the worst teams can beat it.
It's like watching beer league.... passive defense, lots of puck watching, countless one-and-dones on zone entries with the vast majority of shots coming from the perimeter trying to snipe instead of just getting pucks and bodies to the net.
It's easy to defend against and easy to play against with the puck.

There's no trade or set of trades that will fix how they defend as a team while not sacrificing too much offensively.
