Reinhart is a good player, a good good player, but he's a microcosm of what plagues this team. Disappears for stretches, weak on pucks, turns pucks over in key areas of the ice, falls down a lot, isn't physical, skating is below league average, can't defend to save his life, always late on the backcheck. Again, if he's not scoring, he's a liability. He has a very tradeable expiring contract with RFA status, the return could be significant. He'd be a very good piece for a team that already excels at the details.

Sure the players loved RK, he was a great friend, probably a great interesting guy to talk to about anything and provide worldly advice for these young adults. But that doesn't make him a good hockey coach.

I was concerned about this when he was hired, and now the team is in utter freefall and he's just doesn't have it in him to drop the axe.

I just downloaded the CBA and it states a min. of 4 days off per month. They have 14 off days this month, so they should be practicing twice with a day off per week.

This is textbook for how to build a losing culture. Lose, lose lose lose lose and nothing changes, players aren't benched, coaches aren't held accountable, you keep doing the same thing over and over and losing, and you just stick with it. No sense of urgency or reaction to giving up a scoring chance because it doesn't matter. Don't sacrifice your body to make a play because you'll keep getting ice time and collecting a paycheck regardless.

Also with their condensed schedule I think the CBA prevents then from practicing on single rest days or some weird rule like that.
