  1. Lengua (cow tongue) and carne asasda tacos from the taco truck parked down the road from my office. On fresh warm corn tortillas, with cilantro and spicy salsa verde. Fantastic. It most definitely is not. If he ever came near my man cave with tofu jerky he would be barred for life.
  2. Speaking of jerky, has anyone used one of these? My neighbor swears by his and I have to say he's shared some awesome jerky that he made using this thing.
  3. This came on the ipod during the commute home tonight. What a fantastic album. There wasn't a single bar in WNY during the 90's that was worth a damn that didn't have this one in their jukebox. Well, I've kissed you in France and I've kissed you in Spain And I've kissed you in places I'd better not name And I've seen the sun go down on Sacre Coeur But I like it much better........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BaCb3qIth0&feature=related
  4. Very cool. I envy people with artistic talent like that, stick figures are about the best I can do. Terry Sawchuk is awesome.
  5. I recently got the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and my wife has the iphone 4S. They are both great phones, but I like mine better with the 4G.
  6. Man caves. I've had one in my backyard for three years now and it has provided a great place for myself, friends and neighbors to watch sports and blow off some steam every now and then. There has been some stuff that's happened there that I'm sure would get 95% of men in some deep trouble with their wives, but I'm lucky enough to have an awesome and incredibly understanding wife.
  7. I'll second that. I've used the sausage making attachment a few times with fine results. Heh, heh. Way too easy....
  8. Roast beef, turkey and ham sub from Capi's sub shop in the Exxon gas station at hwy 54 and airport blvd in Morrissville, NC. A $3.99 sub that blows subway etc. away.
  9. My complaint is page 2 of the one big family thread.
  10. I have to admit that it certainly would have been fun watching PA twist himself into a pretzel trying to blame Lucic/Miller on Miller.
  11. I'll see your Polygamy Porter and raise you one.... http://www.littleurl.net/61177f and no I've never tried this style of beer, not that I wouldn't providing it was properly sourced. I have tried the Polygamy Porter by the way and it's a darn fine brew.
  12. No piney resin hop flavor? Thats what i usually get from Simcoe hops, but ive never had the Weyerbacher. Good call on going to the 9% first.
  13. and you Rochester folks should be glad to hear of this little nugget on the Blincos menu... a garbage plate knock off called a " hurricane plate".
  14. Its Ruthless Rye. I picked a sixer up at Food Lion of all places. I was a bit disappointed, it seemed a bit thin on the malt for a rye IPA and lacked some of the expected spiciness of a rye malt beer.
  15. Im at Blincos in Raleigh drinking a pint of Stone IPA and waiting on a beef on weck.
  16. That trip sounds awesome and it will create memories for a lifetime for you and your family. When I was 10, we took a cross country family vacation from June until August (my dad was a high schol teacher). We went all the way out west through Canada, so I've actually been to places like Sudbury, Thunder Bay, Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, Regina, Banff, Calgary and Vancouver. Then down the west coast to LA and then back up to Buffalo using largely the same route you are taking on your trip. I still say that my parents must have been crazy to take three kids in a K car wagon and a pop up camper across country for two months, but my brother, sister and I will always remember that trip. I just turned 40 this past August and I have to say that it was a pretty damn good birthday!
  17. Now that you mention it I don't think that I did. I had some carafa II in my grain bin that I used in the grist, but apparently carafa SPECIAL II is the dehusked / debittered variety. I'll have to double check the label when I get home tonight. It's not overwhelmingly roasty, but still with the columbus/cascade hop schedule I used a little roastiness gets in the way a bit.
  18. I'm drinking my home brewed black IPA tonight. It turned out a bit too roasty, it might actually be an American stout. Still damn good.
  19. That would be an exercise in futility, chz is always first.
  20. Great advice in theory, but unless he is gay there probably is really nothing that can be done to the typical 20 something single male pad that is going to impress a female. Therefore the two bottles of red wine is the best bet.
  21. Wow that's great. Seriously, after reading your story I feel like an even bigger slouch for not taking off the 20 lbs or so that I need to.
  22. UB actually although I had friends that went to Geneseo who I visited a few times. I didn't notice an abnormally large proportion of overweight girls when I was there though. They all had to step on a scale before they entered the house of course. :w00t: Actually there were five guys in the contest and then there was myself and two other guys who were allowed to be impartial judges. If one of the contestants had a potential candidate, either two other contestants or outside judges had to be present and they gave an impartial weight estimate. That way the contestant would know beforehand what they would get credit for and could make an informed decision whether or not to proceed. So there was always the risk of collusion, but there was a bit of a Seinfeld like honor system involved here. My recollection though was that it wasn't that close in the end and the winner won by at least a few hundred pounds. Ahh youth..I'm sure my wife would be thrilled to know that I was even peripherally involved in a contest like this. lol
  23. Make no mistake, it was very gross. Towards the end some of them stopped going to college hang outs and went to 40- something bars to increase their chances of a "big" score to make up ground.
