The Canucks are my #2 team. I just got done watching their game (I recorded it).
Mika played very, very well. The Canucks' defense was a joke and hung him out to dry. I spend some time on a Canucks board and had several Canucks fans agree with my perception that had Mika not played as well as he did the Preds would've hung 9 on 'em.
The boxscore is deceiving, but he was awesome. Controlled rebounds very well and his positioning was excellent. But when your forward is feeding the opponent the puck on your doorstep and when your defensemen are giving up multiple 2 on 0's, you're gonna' get beat.
I only posted his numbers for the night prefaced by my opinion -- and all I said was "not bad."
I'm not sure what lead you to believe that I was defending him from an attack you feel you never made.
They were his first points in 16 games and if I was implying anything it was that getting a couple of assists in a single game is a nice way to break a slump.
The way the puck has been finding the back of the net I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but I gotta' tip my cap to Pizza and Rammers. They sure had Tampa ready to play tonight.
Wow. Drury, Briere, Dumont up front with Pominville and Campbell at the points. That's a dangerous power play - tied up at 2, JP with his second on the night - way to go boys!
Haven't caught the D pairings yet but these look like the lines to start the game:
Dumont, Briere, Hecht
Kotalik, Connolly, Pominville
Gaustad, Drury, Grier
Afinogenov, Roy, Vanek
Amen. They're right up there with the craptasticness of the NESN crew. Surely God wouldn't be so cruel as to subject us to two consecutive games of audio hell, would He?
I wouldn't have minded seeing him jumped right after that punch he threw. The game was well in hand and it would've sent a message.
Oh well. Guess I'll take my 8-4 victory over the Laffs and enjoy it! :)
The Caps look a helluva lot better than their record.
It looks like Buffalo just can't get it going and the Caps are able to slow down the pace of the game. Do you guys think that the smaller ice (it appears much smaller than regulation on the Comcast/Caps coverage) kind of plays in to Washington's hands?
:D
Forgive me if RJ or Lorentz already said this (watching Caps' coverage guys), but you can't ask for a better response on the road than to come back and pop one of your own 22 seconds after giving up the first goal of the night.
Kotalik outworks Boyton to slip a backhander 5-hole. 4-2.
Bruins come right back and score, a deflection that Miller never even saw. 5 mins left and it's now 4-3.
