Do You Like The JJP for Kesselring/Doan Trade RIGHT NOW?
krakensabr56390 replied to bob_sauve28's topic in The Aud Club
I also think we will see it play out that Byram has more value than peterka - history is shown that wingers is even very, very good ones are worth less than top 4 defenseman in trades the hierarchy I think is 1C RHD top 4 2C/LHD top 4 top line winger stud goalie 3c/ top 6 winger etc… -
Not to speak for him but peterkas shooting percentage was historically high. There’s a very high likelihood that’s not repeatable and this regression is likely - plus he’s D is still horribad. If he focuses on being a more complete player does his offense regress even more or is he just a 1 way player

Thank you for a good point - in response to whoever called my post a burner account… peterkas metrics away from Thompson are actually worse than Byram away from Dahlin. But I’m to one who’s an idiot…there is a real chance that JJ is not as good as his stat numbers looked last year if you look at the underlying statistics. of course I would love to have gotten the fourth pick as well, but if other teams know what those metric say then there’s no way we are getting the two pieces we got plus a top five draft pick. also McLeod does not need to play in the top 6 now ( to whoever said that) - they need to do their job and get another top six player and everything will be quite good. We actually have an extra $5 million to spend towards that cause and probably will have about $10 million of space after our rfas ( depending on what we get back for Byram) We should all be super pissed if they do not spend this money, but they haven’t not spent it yet

Peterka is a good fwd be he is not a star - we need to stop exaggerating 60-70 pt one dimensional player. He has a lot to prove to be a a star - or will be a Jeff skinner 2.0. Would you be mad getting the return we got for Jeff skinner in his youth knowing what he is? If they actually spend the money they have from doing this ( big if) it’s these 2 guys plus another 5 million dollar player we have a few guys that can turn into another JJ in the pipeline but no one like the 2 guys we just got.

Very incorrect - with Marchment salary the kraken have 18 million in SPACE now with only Kakko and Evans to sign. They may still buyout gru - that gets them to 22 million - ownership has major pressure on them to win so they’re trying to do something big. I would anticipate a top six overpaying in free agency or trade for a higher priced true top line player. also, the narrative here in Seattle has been buying out burky as he has not been healthy or good in 2 years. Nice guy having met him. But people here are thrilled with the fact, someone took him without any retention in fact, sort of shocked.

Chad D: expect a Byram trade at or around the draft
krakensabr56390 replied to dudacek's topic in The Aud Club
Obviously getting significant more value in a trade is a win - that has nothing to do with whether the value is what the team needed to be a better team as a whole. This team is just as bad or worse with mitts on it instead so getting much more value that we can hopefully flip for what we actually need is a big win still to this day -
Friedman- Sabres looking to move prospects for players
krakensabr56390 replied to JoeSchmoe's topic in The Aud Club
I don’t think he’s trying to blame the fans… I think he’s saying that other teams are trying to use the media to manipulate the Sabres. Nothing to do with the fans who they don’t listen to anyways… I get the same sense that people wanted to put lowball the Sabres … Look at what the media narrative was when we got McLeod. We got a guy who was a 50 pt 2 Way center on a good contract with good defensive numbers… And somehow the spin was that it was the worst trade in the last 15 years since Forsburg for erat - and the Hockey news dope who made that statement sticks by that judgment! -
Sabres looking for Senior Advisor for Adams and Hockey Department

Dreger rarely has actual info correct on the Sabres and often is just speculating -
Why is Kevyn Adams still the General Manager?
krakensabr56390 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Haha - but in all seriousness, does anyone else actually confirm this or just repeated the report? I’ve looked at all the usual sources that report stuff for the Sabres and no one else is actually confirming it… Unless I miss something? They ( atw) are not exactly a super reliable source 99% of the time. I don’t count wgror other folks parroting this report without a secondary confirmation as confirming it -
2025 NHL Trade Deadline: March 7th, at 3pm Eastern
krakensabr56390 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I mean have you watched his career play out at all? He was going to be good. It was going to happen in Colorado… It did not he is just the same guy he was here most of the time. -
Absolutely not the 2nd and the 1st can be achieved with another less immediately impactful player/ pick I wouldn’t give up much at all for a declining kreider
-
I’m right there with you - would be a value piece if he becomes a varada clone

The issue with articles like this is that they do not reflect extremely successful prospects going to pro quickly. That’s why these are less accurate than top players under 22 or 23… For example, if you pick in the top three a couple years in a row, most of your prospects will be the best in the game, but they won’t be prospects anymore because they’re playing in the NHL. The best prospect year is not actually reflective of you how well you draft or quality of uber high end picks - it’s the guys still not in the nhl and how good they are. It’s sort of like upgrading or downgrading a teams future based on a technicality… The technicality being that the best players probably can’t be named prospect anymore even if they’re the same age as or younger than other players in other systems happened to not be good enough for the NHL yet

Trade: C Ryan McLeod - Oilers for Matt Savoie
krakensabr56390 replied to tom webster's topic in The Aud Club
Good points and keep in mind that 2nd is sort of free anyways since we prob draft Helenius at 11 if we don’t move down anyways… it didn’t exist in the stockpile before last week and had zero sunk player cost -
What interesting about Detroit is that they actually have a lot less cap space than it looks like… They have to pay Seider and Raymond ( long term that’s costing them prob 16-20 mil total ) so they really only have somewhere between 10 and $15 in cap space to fill the rest of the roster.
