    Anderson did not look great

We needed a save from him tonight, particularly goal 3 which was hideous. Goal 2 was bad too - he was on his knees for no reason. Johnson got ouplayed by a backup goalie is reason #1 we lost. Too bad we couldn't play periods 1 and 2 like we did 3.  Power and Cozens were bad, quinn and Peterka were very good.  I guess it's the nature of young kids.  Oloffson was useless again

I wonder why they wouldn’t bring up someone who is waiver exempt ?

guess they figure no one is claiming Vinnie

A guy can only be claimed when being sent down.  No need to send Vinny down again as after the trade deadline (March 3) there's no roster limit of 24

  3. Refs really blew this big time and should be held responsible.  I find it hard to believe than none of the 4 saw the blatant elbow.  All major penalties are reviewable, and can be upheld, changed to a minor or changed to no penalty.  So what should have happened is they call a major and review it.  When no penalty was called it wasn;t reviewable afterwards.  The continued ineptness of NHL refereeing is incredible.

Sabres need to upgrade their 6D bad. It doesn’t have to be a big name.

I say sell Quinn/Mittelstadt while value is decent. I just don’t see them making a huge jump.  I doubt they move for chemistry reasons tho

No way they're trading either for a 5/6D.  Mittelstadt has been one of our best players lately and Quinn has also been very good.  Quinn is a potential 30+ goal scorer and is leaps and bounds better right now than Peterka, who  looks a little lost

Probably because Clague has looked good playing w/ Power particularly or Dahlin but not when playing on the 3rd pairing.  And if he's in for Bryson, he's 3rd pairing.

Bryson isn't a tire fire on the PK.  Expect that isn't the case for Clague.

Both are 7's.  Based on Jokiharju's being glued to Power's hip, don't expect Clague to get to play w/ the guy he's been comfortable with.  So, Bryson gets to play.

Hopefully Adams can find a McCabe that isn't going to cost a 1st nor a key prospect.  Otherwise, we'll continue to get servings of Bryson.

    Goode explanation

The notion that Portillo is afraid of competition because he wants to scan the hockey market to find the best employment option for him makes little sense. He was a diligent student who stayed in school because he was serious about his education. That shouldn't be something that warrants criticisms as it should be praised. If he believes that he would have a better professional opportunity somewhere else, then that is his right. As it is for anyone in any profession. He's acting within the rules of the profession, so why should he be criticized?

Fair points Mrs. Portillo, but I say he's still a P*ssy.  Hope he ends up like that former Kings goalie who chose not to sign with us.

  7. 2023 is one of the strongest drafts in years supposedly.  No way we should be trading away our first, even if it got us in the playoffs, there;s no way we're competing with a Boston type team with our current D and goalies.  If you can get someone cheaper to replace Bryson, I'm all for it though.  I don't need to see him play ever again.  Why in the world is he starting over Klague, his stats and advanced metrics are beyond horrible.  Why do we need to be starting a very undersized dman who obviously can't play D and provides nothing offensively.  He is way below replacement level.
