This is the best decision Adams has made since the Greenway trade. Don't waste time, it was obvious that he is not fully cooked yet

Is he not better than Okposo and his 3 points this season in 14+ minutes a game or Krebs whopping 1 point all season? And.... the idiot granato is giving them PP2 minutes too. You can amazingly tell he's not fully cooked in all of his 3:55 game time yesterday where his Goal expectancy was 92%.  5 points in 6 games in rochester wasn't sh*t either.

Was going to say the exact same thing.  The issue should be whether he can play.  It’s not entirely clear which scenario works out better financially.

Big failure by Granato.  He had to know this was going to be a offensive freeforall.  Yet he benches Benson for Jost, Oloffson and even Okposo (who looks shot).  Benson could have helped tonight.  Stupid decision.

The Haula breakaway was a perfect shot and the other goal UPL allowed was tipped also.

Both not necessarily on him although you want him to stop the breakaway which like I said was a helluva shot.

No need to chase another young goalie out if town just yet.

wasn't a great shot,  He deked him and put it in the net when UPL was too slow to move with him

That doesn’t explain the rest of the goals. UPL is not an NHL goalie and Sabres still don’t play defense.

It's tough to win with an AHL-lite goaltender.  Tough bounces, but at some point a big frame like his has to be square with the puck hitting him.  We lost due to sloppy turnovers, about six Skinner Grade A misses and because their goalie was a lot better than ours.  Someone need to tell UPL he is allowed to stop breakaways.  That goal showed ho damn slow he is

Going on year 3 of Don Granato and nothing seems to have changed, the forward group still doesn't play great defense and neither do the defensemen at times. I get that it's the beginning of the season but this is the Sabres ever year under Granato. Why the slow starts going into year 3? Why do we still have problems winning on home ice in year 3? He's a great developmental HC but I don't believe he's the right HC to lead us to the Stanley Cup playoffs and it's not just about the beginning of this season it's just more of the same and I really want to be wrong because I like the guy, seems like a great person but I just don't see him doing much than he has for this team, I'm sure i'll get the hate and hear the "relax it's only game 2" LOL .

Today was much better, though I'm not into moral victories. We hit at least 4 posts tonight. Clifton was directly responsible for all 3 goals:  Threw up on himself on goal 1, scored on himself on goal two and decided not to clear the front on goal 3. He could have/should have also been scored against on at least 4 other shifts. Never thought I'd say this, but, bench him and put in Bryson next game, or, maybe better yet, send Levi to Rochester (in a paper move) and bring up Johnson and let him play a game.

  6. The positive:  Greenway is a hell of a different player when healthy and Benson is here to stay.  Levi was excellent tonight.

The bad:  The Tage line is -2 on the season and has a cumulative 0 points.

The worst:  Clifton can go away and never come back.  -3 tonight and basically singlehandedly lost tonights game.

Same as the Ranger game.  A Questionable call by the referee, and a questionable non call.

Same as the Ranger game - a visible first period by our first line.

We played better than the score indicates but it’s 2-0.   We need the next goal or else the mountain gets real high

CLifton is pure garbage - fcks up a play in the ozone then gets outskated for the first goal.  Scores on himself on goal 2.  There's a reason Boston told him to go away.  Meanwhile Johnson had 3 assists today in Rochester - the clock is ticking quickly.

Tage lina MIA again - terrible turnovers by Skinner and Tage on goal #2

Cozens - not sure he's playing, haven't seen him

Our best player again is an 18 year old

    Go Bills

I still cannot believe Adams has put all the eggs in the Levi basket and will once again go with the same goaltending minus Anderson, it's almost comical at this point.

Levi wasn't good tonight but this isn't on him.  If Clifton wasn't on the ice for all 7 goals against, he certainly was on for 6 of them.  Unmitigated disaster of an experiment putting him with Dahlin.  Dahlin was -4 tonight and I can't blame him for any of the goals. Levi won his first 2 ames this year

If he's not ready yet to be an NHL starter, the Sabres are screwed this year.  And that's not on him, it's on Adams.

Levi could have made a save or two more here, but Clifton/Dahlin have been horrible in front of him.  The other two pairings have been fine.  We know Dahlin is solid so......CLifton needs to play 12 minutes on the 3rd pairing.  Hellebuyk would have been lit up tonight behind this effort.  3 sabres are plus tonight, Benson, the demoted Sammy and Joker (who has been quite good

Can the Sabres do anything on the PP when the final TV timeout of the night is over?  Didn't pay attention to who we had out there on the earlier one.  Thompson, Mittelstadt, Benson, Peterka, and Johnson?

Thompson, Benson, Clague, Greenway, and believe Peterka. Kulich.

As I hope to never see Bryson play another regular season game for the Sabres, I hope to never see Clague and Greenway on the Power play.

Btw, if there's any market at all for UPL, Adams should trade him.  3 goalies on an NHL roster is idiotic

Awful night for UPL… Needs a good showing his next opportunity…

Not ready to quit on him.

nah, I dont like UPL at all, I don't think he's a viable NHL goalie, but he wasn't awful tonight.  He is what he is, a guy who can't stop a breakaway who's going to give up close to 4 goals a game. I'm begging Adams to trade either him or Comrie.  Carrying 3 goalies is idiotic.  I honestly think Cooley may be our 2nd best goalie anwyay

I am not watching this one. It feels like defense and goaltending are still a major issue with an emphasis on goaltending but not in a good way.

I was thinking that maybe KA has held out on moving VO to get through the Quinn injury. At that point he may be prepared to package him for a goaltender.

Im high on Levi and this roster but if this defense still blows without any systemic adjustments, and UPL/Comrie are still miserable options I’m gonna be pissssed!

Only 2 of our starting 6 d played tonight and Power wasn't good.

Krebs can pass but he doesn’t get to loose pucks quick enough.

Glad Bryson was there to provide “a veteran play” on that last Leaf goal.  He is too small, no reach, no length, no weight

I don't ever need to see Bryson play for the Sabres again.  He was literally the worst defenseman in the league last year.  Undersized, provides no offsense and can't play defense.  Goal 4, he gives away the puck then decides to cover nobody in front of his own net
