Benson is an 18 year old Rookie who plays with energy and actually forechecks. Many nights he's been one of our most impactful players.

These same guys looked like an offensive force much of last season. This season they're too often just gliding around, tossing off sloppy passes, and don't seem to have any clear purpose out there. We still get occasional glimpses of what they're capable of, but then follow that up with another clunker or three. That's what's so frustrating. I still say these guys like Granato, but they won't play for him on any consistent basis. We need a new, tougher voice behind the bench.

I want to buy in, but we've seen these macro-runs before from Upie, then he turns back into a pumpkin for a while. Overall, he's definitely been a good bit better in total so far this season. If he could turn into a steady .910 guy, it would be huge.

I'm not taking anything away from Hasek, he's the GOAT to me (and the inspiration for my username), but holding today's goaltenders up to his standards is simply a false equivalency. He played in a different era when scoring was waaaaaaay down.

And we continue to wait for our first three game win streak of the season as we enter mid-January.
