Does anyone like the idea of Brendan Shanahan
Cranky old man replied to SJSabres Fan's topic in The Aud Club
Terry Pegula’s inaction, as it relates to the structure of the Sabres over the last five years, (and previous) strongly suggests he would not hire anyone above Adams. Once might even conjecture that Adams’ eager embrace of an unlikely promotion after the mass firing of 22 employees at Sabreland in 2020 earned him an invisible leash X years long. Though hiring Shanahan would immediately rehabilitate Pegula’s standing as the worst owner in the NHL, he owes Kevyon for standing in front of the cameras taking all the garbage that should be answered by an owner or team president. -
Owning/ending the drought: say it out loud, Sabres
Cranky old man replied to PASabreFan's topic in The Aud Club
Adams remains unskilled with the public and media. He has done a poor job throughout his career, and has not improved. Whereas Beane arrived as a very complete and polished executive. If you compared the drafting skill they aren’t that far off from each other. But that is where any similarity ends. Beane understands team building and Adams does not. I get your point Pimlach, but isn’t Pegula’s personal involvement with the Sabres——the real problem. His distance from the day to day management of the Bills is a large contributor to their success. Actual football professionals seem to make all the big decisions. -
Are you ready to give up on the team?
Cranky old man replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
The worst owner in the NHL has driven me to give up on the Sabres. I’ve been a fan since the franchise began. No longer can my head and gut take the lies, pandering and pomposity of failure GMKA. (the poodle) This team makes lateral moves year after year. What’s-his-name spends under the cap. His pet poodle makes sure all his dirty little duties are undertaken. This team hasn’t had good, consistent goal tending in the five years of Adams oversight. That alone would have broken the drought. Every off season we talk about the same issues. Incompetence at this level has a name. J-E-T-S……jets, jets, jets. -
“Hello Coach Carle, this Terry Pegula, owner of the Buffalo Sabres. ……the hockey team in Buffalo…..right. I’ ll pay you one million dollars to come to Buffalo and coach the team….yes the Sabres….no you don’t have to pick any assistant coaches, we’ve taken care of that for you…..they are very cost effective….I mean experienced…..our GM…..You will love him….its Keyvion Adams, he tries really hard…..he knows what it takes to win….well no we haven’t won much for, for , for the last 14 years…. OH We talk all the time …..about winning…..He has a lot of great ideas, just the other day he called starquist and suggested they feed the tuna mayonnaise. Hello ? Coach ? Kenyon , I think we were disconnected. “

The Total Irrelevance of the Buffalo Sabres
Cranky old man replied to CallawaySabres's topic in The Aud Club
Pete Guelli claims to talk to Pegula every day as well, yet nothing changes in Sabreland. Talk is cheap, just like the Sabres. Apparently they just all sit around and talk, wish, hope and think. What they don’t do is change their failed approach. That would require hiring competent professionals to run their operation. -
Ah, Mr. Pegula now I see how you lifted the team in Montreal with your inspirational prose. Thank you. I feel better. You can continue your prideful mismanagement and calculated bugery of this once great franchise.

The guys whose names are etched as part of three recent Stanley cup teams have done pretty well. Risto was on a bad team. Zadorov provided everything to his teams that we lack here in Buffalo—-nastiness and muscle. But we avoid those traits in players like wins in Sabre land.

All our former players look better on other teams.

This year’s poor outcome is on Lindy. There is no way around it. It was not an unrealistic expectation that this team make the playoffs this year. Lindy should have been able to reach such a low threshold even with the all soft ice cream team.

I was just taking a shot at the Sabres. That said, what the hell do you or I know about his hockey IQ, unless we are his linemate or his coach? I mean really. He’s a kid and he’s in the nhl already. So the talent is there. Was it too much to ask him to be a top line center, on that we could agree. Chances are his game improve with time on a winning team, run by a viable hockey organization. Bet on it. There is ample evidence of this theory skating around the league, who once wore the blue and gold. Kevyin Adams just ruined another player that’s all. He’s the Alfred E. Neumann of NHL GM’s.

He will be “all nhl “ in no time. After a while a guy will do anything to get out of this groundhog day movie that masquerades as an nhl franchise.

Kevyn Adams post trade deadline press conference

Having to face the cameras while knowing in his heart, his vision is a failure, his theories bankrupt; he can only whisper as he walks by the graveyard. -
Report:Mattias Samuelsson not out for the year
Cranky old man replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
One would think Samulsson would at least fake being healthy, just so we could trade him to a better team. Not only is he worth a bag of pucks, he’s just as smart as said pucks. -
Have Dylan Cozens & Mattias Samuelsson been stripped of their “A”s
