ARI is kind of stuck in a hard place now - they've sat Chychrun out for 18 days and he has a limited NTC hitting 7/1. Now, they could trade him at the draft but it would look pretty amateurish sitting him out for 3+ weeks and not trading him by the deadline. Of couse, it is ARI so they probably don't care....

So Chychrun and Vejmalka to Buffalo for a 1st in 2023, a late 2nd in 2023, Rosen, Comrie, and Bryson?
Doesn't feel like enough as Comrie and Bryson are basically worthless. Maybe substitute Bryson for another decent propect

I just read on HFBoards that the Sabres have an offer on the table fo Chychrun which Arizona is evaluating.
Upon further review, the source they're quoting is the biggest joke out there, unfortunately. He's worse than Eklund on hock**Bu*z

fingers crossed - he fits everything current need-wise and timeline wise

I can’t see Rosen being off limits.
Agreed - there's no way in the world Rosen would be considered off limits and Oslund would be considered tradeable.

Yep - he did make one stupid pass today but otherwise was a game changer

I think chychrun is still a possibility:
1. Fills a MAJOR need
2. The Pegula FLA connection
3. We can pay as much as anybody
but will we?
Send me Chychrun, Bjustad, Crouse and Vejmelka
for
2023 1st, Oloffson, Vinny, UPL, Rousek and Bryson

Victor O is the most obvious trade chip for me. Mits 2nd.
Mitts is not being traded - not the way he’s been playing and the fact we’re down Tuch for a month +

Makar is almost on another planet he's so good. I would take that deal in a heartbeat for him.
Makar is unfortunately one more head hit away from having a major problem

UPL is garbage. He needs to go.
Ugh he kind of won us the last game in case you have forgotten. Granted, I can’t wait for the Levy era in a couple of years

1. Maybe a game at the end of the season if we’re out of the playoff hunt. Full time - 2025/2026 season
2. not really, 5%? He has a clear path to a #1 NHL goalie role on an up and coming young team. To sign elsewhere he’d have to play another year at NE and sign elsewhere in August 24. That’s throwing away a lot of time and $$
3. 100% - he’ll likely be the #1 goalie there for 2 years, like Ryan Miller did

I don’t know if the coaches sucked or the players - probably both. But I do know they coach scared/conservative. That’s why they destroy backup and rookie QBs and get destroyed by good Qbs
ill never forgive them for 13 seconds - that was all coaches shrinking under pressure. Pooch the fkn kick to the 5 yd line = game over. Yeah I’m still bitter.
we needed Oliver to be Chris Jones last week instead he was as affective as Daquan Jones.

Sabres are playing with supreme confidence right now / they can beat anyone. They can also lose to anyone - it’s the nature of the NHL

As I have indicated, I think if you do this you are sending Olofsson out in a corresponding trade. Then the Jost line gets either Quinn or JJP and Cozens gets Meier.
Makes sense, but then who'd you give up for Meier and what did you get for Oloffson?

Why?
I like Peterka's game better going forward

Maybe the Sharks GM, former Sabres legend Mike Grier is actually sleeper agent and this is a long con to improve the Sabres. Karlsoon + Meier for Mitts + Ben Bishop and a 2nd round pick. Who says no?
SJ says no. I think it would take a 1st, Quinn (I'm not giving up Peterka) and a lesser prospect (I'm not giving up Kulich)

Another clutch goaltending night! UPL has really been good (can't believe some had all but given up on the guy early in the season). He's showing the potential many scouts, not just the Sabres, saw in him early on. And he is still young and has plenty of upside. If we can keep Anderson in the fold another year-plus, that may give time for Levi to come in and let UPL be the starter with the heavier load as Levi adjusts.
We continue to play pretty sloppy in our own end and at center ice - giving up too many chances. Can't do that against teams with strong scorers. Gotta keep working on staying focused on puck control and crisp passing. Get some of that sloppiness shored up and it's an even better team.
Great to see Tage get a goal and Power and another goal. Some great passes on our first 3 goals.
Love watching this team. )
Pretty sure Anderson retires after this season, so next year will be UPL #1, Comrie backup, Levy #1 in rochester, Portillo signed somwhere else, hoping he finds the same fate as Quick.

Nuh-uh. I agree with the rest of this, but that is a lousy Blues team.
There a decent team, playing on 2 days rest, with two of their top players back in the lineup. It was a really nice win for the Sabres on a B2B, a winthey mught not have held on to in past years

Caps broadcast also has a smokeshow on it...are the Sabres the only broadcast team that doesn't feature a hottie in some role?
Bills have Maddie Glab,,,oh wait

I think he's a developing Jochen Hecht and I'm fine with that.
Hecht is a really good comparison. He's a little smaller but faster. Maybe not as good defensively but as good offensively. He does the dirty things that Middelstadt isn't good at and really helps that line. Fantastic free pick up.

Jost is a good player. Hope we re sign
He's in the 2nd year of a 2 year $4m contract. After this season he's a RFA, so I'm sure we resign him or qualify him

Bills are dead now, unfortunately.
I flew in town for 2 Sabre/bills weekend and the Minnesota game was the best crowd since 2006. Last weekends sellout wasn’t as loud (a lot of kids with the 12:30 start, but was still a good crowd.
kids play better in front of a loud crowd

Sabres trade for Defenseman Riley Stillman in exchange for Josh Bloom

Hoping he’s AHL eligible cuz I don’t see him helping the Sabres?? He’s not even right handed. Rochester is pretty desperate for D, so hopefully for them and this doesn’t eliminate the possibility of trading for a real dman like Chychrun or Jensen.
can anyone confirm if he’s AHL eligible?
