  1. The 13 game losing streak was probably the biggest reason they not only didn't make the playoffs, but were never really in the mix. Having no one who was capable of stealing a game or two.
  2. This comes to mind: https://www.hockey-reference.com/boxscores/202105030BUF.html
  3. He had so little value this offseason it was stunning - Guy won 40 games in 22-23. He also Which probably projects to UPL's trade value since Georgiev was one of the only goalies who was statistically worse than him last season.
  4. It's only October too, so many players (especially on good teams) are not as focused on this part of the schedule. They'll play through it when the games matter, but right now it makes sense to sit.
  5. I meant moreso, if he wants out - there's the door.
  6. I'd imagine they're probably fine releasing Georgiev.
  7. Just an eye test thing for me. Kozak seems faster, more determined in the forecheck, and more committed to getting to dirty areas. I dont expect tic-tac-toe on the 4th line, and he just seems to have a better direct game than krebs at the moment.
  8. I was hoping they'd move UPL this offseason. I was also hoping they'd make a big swing at the position to try and finally fix things back there.
  9. I'm not sure when the clock runs out on the 30-day thing with STL - something like they automatically get him and he goes to their AHL affiliate (I'm not 100 percent certain on this rule so someone can feel free to clear it up). Anyone else who claims him after that window has to keep him on their roster, so if you can wait out that period you might be able to send him to Rochester and waive Georgiev if he clears. He's had jumbly lines since the get-go with benson missing time and Norris being hurt in the first game. I think he might have played center for a game. It's certainly not good enough and he needs to play better though.
  10. It's really not something you can teach.
  11. Well thats good, who'd have thought he'd need to be called up by the 8th game. If Zucker misses time thats like... 1/3 of the salary cap payroll tied up in injuries right now.
  12. It's rochester so just a tweet that he left the game early and went to the locker room. I can probably dig it up, but its far from official so probably not worth sharing. I'd say kozak over krebs. Krebs seemed to kill that line against montreal.
  13. I don't see much in Krebs game that i'd play him over kozak at this point. If the entire roster is healthy I'd envision krebs as an extra skater, Östlund back in rochester, and danforth on waivers. For goalies i'd probably carry 3 for a bit since someones bound to get hurt.
  14. I feel like too much flux is probably not necessarily a good thing. There's a lot of pieces, signed for long periods of time, that have not gelled or succeeded for any number of reasons. If I'm firing the GM, the coach, the scouts and cleaning house, do i really trade the players who signed on to be here? To me it comes down to spending - if you can get to tell the new GM/coach combo that we are absolutely going for it - do you automatically dump players? I'd probably wait until free agency before I'd move anyone of value. We usually miss in free agency, but who knows? There's still a bunch of prospects to move that you can use for any draft day trades, and then see what you can potentially get with free agency before making any drastic moves. Tuch is still up in the air. You have 3 decently sized expiring contracts with byram, greenway, and zucker. Could also buy out norris and Samuelsson if you need space. The real barrier to anything is cash, will the team actually spend?
  15. Truthfully - Adams shouldn't be allowed to trade him. Let a new GM come in and evaluate.
  16. He looked pretty terrible most of last night, and almost had a goal so i'd say thats a pretty spot on analysis. He played ok against Florida, but in this one he's just missing passes, passing misses, i don't even know, but the puck off his stick didn't go to anyone but montreal players.
  17. Agreed. I feel like thats probably where he should fit, a 4th line player with enough skill to play up the lineup in a pinch. Not sure who's projecting to kill penalties on the 2nd pair either, but it might end up being him and Kozak. Considering - Greenway, Malenstyn, Danforth, hell even norris are all out. The fact that it was Östlund not Rosen to me indicates that they wanted a center. We'll see though, wouldn't shock me in the slightest to see him as a wing on a line with Geertson and Kozak.
  18. I was happy to see him gone. Would be nice if Norris could stay healthy for more than a game, but he was just a brutal line killer towards the end of his time here. Can't pass, is ok in transition but always seems lost in his own zone defensively, and every shot seems to be meticulously aimed directly at the goalies jersey logo.
  19. I'm hoping its a sign that muel is back. Not that he's not the softest monster on the roster though 🙂
  20. Borgen was the dumb one. Skinner waived his NMC in the expansion draft and gave you the option to keep him basically, and they kept "trade value" in bjork, asplund, and olofsson. I think Foligno was a dumb trade to move a buffalo player, but i get that they were trying to get scandella.
  21. He's getting his first and potentially only shot at age 26. I have 0 expectations, but i'd imagine he's going to bring his all. I'm personally sick of bryson - like 250 games over 5 years, i'm good please find someone else to be the extra defenseman. Agreed. I like RyJo but it doesn't seem like he's ever going to get a chance here so i'm not sure we need to give him a nickname.
  22. Hey... he isn't bryson? Lets give the guy a chance.
  23. He seems to be playing in a lot of different situations with different linemates.
