That is going to require the Tea Party get in line... The Democrats could cross the aisle and vote with Republicans if there were revenues provided. The Republican's don't want revenues that come from tax increases unless they come from restructuring the tax code. The tax code can't be restructured in the next 45 days. The circle is complete. I truly think there is a real segment of the GOP that just wants to let these rules all go in to place. Everyone has been re-elected. The time to do this is now when you have the most political cover from your constituency. The world will look different in 2 years. My druthers tell me compromise may be too difficult. My guess is the cuts go in and they retro some legislation after the new government is in place. The reason they pushed the Continuing Resolution Authority out to late March was to allow them to focus on the FC. These guys could make a real mess of this years tax season. Tey might not ave final orms out until March.

That's true the actual cuts are spread out but the cuts are across the board which means you can't protect certain areas of the budget over others. FEMA's budget will get slashed, not plused up, so where will the money come from?

Isn't an "outrage of monumental proportions" the very definition of BCS.. Aren't we locked into the same what if arguments every year?
-
I suspect they get it too. But 18B is not trivial amount in this budget climate. The more interesting aspect is that we are operating under a Continuing Resolution. That means without a budget, agencies are capped at 80% of their budget last year. I don't think their is 18B worth of financial maneuver room to give NY 18B. So unless they can take an IOU until say April, the money either comes from a special appropriations out of a lame duck Congress or out of NYS. The FC requires 500B in cuts from non Defense spending on 1 Jan. So 18B will matter. And of course we haven't seen CT, DE, MD or NJ numbers yet. 18B might be a drop in the bucket. This is going to get interesting.....

Daryl found Carol's scarf. My bet is Carol is calling Rick. Worst part of this show is they have to be close now to mid season hiatus.

I do too..

Ummm 1975-1980.... Liked Georgetown well before I could spell DC or ever thought to move here. Big East battles before they destroyed the college basketball conference were epic.. Loved the Big Eight battles between NU and OU every year. Bobby Bowden.. Just loved his play calling... Blue Jays obvious.. Braves during college when they had all that pitching and couldn't win. Sabres and Bills, birth mark..

My loyalties are all over the map Buffalo Bills Buffalo Sabres Toronto Blue Jays Atlanta Braves Nebraska Cornhuskers Florida State Seminoles Georgetown Hoyas I have no affiliation whatsoever with any of these colleges. I can't explain why I like who I like and why I hate who I hate. It's always been this way.

Not my favorite show last night.... So where was Lori's body? In the Zombie? Are we to believe he ate the whole thing?

Why is rooting against a particular football team "ignorant non-sense!"? Glad to see you went there. Someone had too...
-
I haven't paid attention to college football in years. Used to be a big fan. One thing that always PO'd my Irish family was my disdain for ND. About the only thing I root for, if you can call it that, is the demise of ND each year.

That just shows you how good his numbers were and the truth in what he was saying. :w00t:

My British friend needed a hernia operation. He had to wait months to get on the schedule since this was "elective" surgery. When he was close to his surgery date, he got a fever. He lost his time slot and was shoved out an additional 60 days. Total time waiting for surgery exceeded 5 months.

So Coumo wants 30B in aid for Hurricane Sandy. This is going to make for some interesting politics. Seems that FEMA has 12B earmarked. Since Congress couldn't bother doing their job and pass a budget, the government is operating on a Continuing Resolution Authority (CRA) until late March 2013. That means a new request is going to have to be approved by a lame duck Congress on the threshold of a sequestration debate. How do you add 18B to the impending fiscal cliff discussions? That number doesn't include Obama's new found buddy Christie and his request. Congress and the President are going to be looking to cut spending, not add to it. Obama in NYC this week to survey damage/progress. Should be interesting to see him walk this back.... He has promised the full resources of the federal government will be brought to bear. Upstaters, be prepared to bail out out your down state brethren. This is going to cost you for years to come...

So the gauntlet part of the schedule is over. Looking at what's left you largely see bottom feeders and a slew of home games. Hawks must travel giving slight edge to Buffalo. It's not crazy to think they could go on a run now. The schedule sure does look softer all of a sudden..... That Tennessee game.... Oh boy... LOL.... Time to put those rose-colored rally glasses on.. Run the table and there's hope. Lose one more and it's really over.

I literally broke out laughing on that Fitz interception.

Fitz didn't solely lose the game for Buffalo, but he didn't win it either. He gets paid to win it there. End of story...

Can you believe that? Imagine if they had a real QB...

That's just the point. Mandating coverage doesn't mean mandating affordable coverage. Out of pocket expenses are never talked about. ******************* It should be interesting to see the unpacking of the Petraeus story. It already has changed a couple of times in the last view days.

I called it at 930p on election night. Now that I got mine, I agree..

This is all shaping up just like the NBA last year. They're talking. Season starts on 1 Jan with 50-60 games being played. Just by hunch.

I don't think he did it voluntarily. FBI got a tip did they. Hmmmm. I say Clinton (you pick which one) did him in to save 2016.
