Man, I can't even think about watching Canada win the gold in Buffalo. That would be brutal. Let us win next year, then you can have the rest. Even though it's in Buffalo next year, I think the crowd will be at least 40% Canadian. Won't be much of a home crowd advantage like it was in Montreal. Should be a great environment.

Was a great game, but the Amerks still blow way too many leads....sound familiar? Linus was great in goal, he faced a lot of rubber tonight, which is par for the course as he has faced more shots than any other goalie in the AHL. How both the Sabres and Amerks are consistently outshot is mind numbing. If the Amerks had as many shots as the Crunch tonight, the score might have been 7-3.

I should have worded my post ddifferently. I didn't mean it to sound like I was talking about all Canadian fans. But from what I read on Twitter and elsewhere, there were plenty of fans who were none to happy about the US winning the gold at "their sport". And the people bashing Matthews for supporting his own country is just pathetic.

All depends on who the next coach is. They may be looking for a new GM and a coach again in two years. Hard to gauge anything with such dysfunction. But....if the Bills somehow catch lightning in a bottle and hit a HR with the next QB, that changes everything. An above average QB fixes a lot of problems.

I used to build one every year when my kids were younger. It was always a pain in the ass keeping it skateable just because the weather never cooperated. The winters aren't nearly as cold as they used to be when I was young. Our rinks back then would be frozen for 2-3 months straight. Then when we got older we just started playing on the canal. Up there you could shovel off regulation size sheets of ice.....greenish brown ice that is. Hopefully the rest of Jan/Feb stay cold enough for you. But you should definitely be skating this wknd. Gonna get colder each night/day until Monday.

If they can't find a better option, then yes. If they gave him a cheaper contract they could use him for the next year or two until they draft or bring in a better option. I'm not sure what their plans are, but I don't see any better options out there as of today. I thought I read somewhere that Overdorf drew up the contract and it was a disaster. That could've been written by a regular Joe Schmoe, I can't remember where I saw it.

I agree. I've been watching hockey over 40 years and it's nice to see how much hockey has developed in the US over that time. I was just going by some of the tweets I was reading from Canadian fans that seem real salty about last night's game. Not saying all Canadian are nervous, but there are plenty that don't like what's happening. Same could be said for fans in every country.

A lot of it also depends on what these guys have upstairs. Listening to Darnold in interviews, he comes across as much more mature and smarter than his age. Guys like Leinart, Johnson, Barkley come across as sun fried surfer dudes. I see much more potential from this kid than anyone to come from USC since Palmer. Who knows, maybe he flops next year, just have to wait and see. And if Alabama ever recruited a top QB, they would somehow be better than they already are. Talk about a powerhouse.
