So I wore my new Royal Blue Eichel Jersey to school today (last day - non uniform). One of our youngest learners - a 5 year old - stopped to ask "Why is there scissors on that?". Slightly ruined my holiday spirit!

TV/Internet does not do it justice. I've been lucky enough to see the all blacks, fiji* and Samoa** play scotland and it makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Utterly awesome. The thing with most rugby crowds is that they tend to revere these and 60,000+ stadium will hush to witness it. *fiji perform the cibi and latterly the I boli **Samoa perform the Siva Tau Both are similar to the All Black's Haka, but have their own cultural significance.

@dudacek rugby at all levels is awesome! I've played at uni, coached under 11s for almost 20 years and watch my local amateur team occasionally. I see it as the hockey of ball sports. There are no hiding places. Being raked in a ruck is not joke though!

The Haka is not a celebration. It is deeply rooted in Maori culture as a challenge gesture. Not something to make fun/light of.

I dont thinknitbwould be the NHLs objective to turn the unis into ad sandwich boards. Here in Europe the reason is simple teams cannot survive without the ad revenue. For the Clan (eihl In UK) even that is not enough. Logos applied to unis in a similar manner to the ones already there, or like the nba vests, would not look terrible. Now... whether it will impact jersey sale revenue is another thing. How much to teams make from replica sales?

They already have adidas/ccm/bauer logos and not many object to those.
