Maybe not. Group dynamics will change with a new leader. Based on the rumors, Adam’s has targeted some very good players, but deals do not happen. Maybe Karmanos is a better closer and can pull off a few good trades? Maybe he is more respected among other GMs? Keep in mind that Karmanos had a better resume, with much better hockey operations experience, than Adams did when Adams was given the GM job. Karmanos spent six seasons with the Pittsburgh, and was their AGM for three seasons. He was their vice president of hockey operations prior to that. He runs Rochester right now.

I hear you but Adams would be the wrong guy to send after the disaster that was his last presser. You just know that it could easily get contentious and only do more harm. Maybe Gueli would be a better choice, and he could focus more on the other factors related to fan experience. Or, you just stay with the past formula. We will get to Adams and Ruff at the end of the season and will probably be unpleasant.

Yes. The no salute thing was in response to the "fire Donny" chanting. To me it shows how young this team was and more importantly how bad the internal leadership on the team actually was, and probably still is. Around that same time Boston played poorly and got booed off their home ice, and their coach said the fans were smart and they were right. Marchand said the fans were right and they should have played better. Simple and done. No issues In Buffalo Granato did it wrong, and then he pointed out to the media that some of these players signed long term contracts. I take that to mean that it is a sacrifice to be in Buffalo. It actually is and that is 100% on Terry. The relationship between the fan base and the team gets worse with every losing season.
