  1. Norris is out I’m guessing. The new Defenseman with 3 names might play. Matinee for the youth of WNY to see the splendor of a well run organization, the Golden Knights.
  2. And we gave up an extra 2nd rounder, in a predicted to be strong 2026 draft. When we do we see the guy with 3 names?
  3. Remote work is common today. Remote leadership can be a problem. Rochester is going great, nice mix of AHL vets and NHL prospects , the result speak for themselves. Whoever found Leone deserved credit. Karmanos deserves credit too. It seems like Karmanos being directly with Adams for a few days a week would help Adams. As pointed out, he doesn’t have any advisors, but he does want any according to LL. If I’m Terry I would allow the remote work when the workload permits it. I would also want him rotating between Roch, Buf, and home when workload requires it. I would enforce the later.
  4. Yes. I missed that one. Lots of references to Stars Wars, Star Trek, Hobbit/Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, etc., on this site. Most of it I don't fully get. I liked Next Gen Star Trek but during its heyday I had three little kids to run around town with and a job that was demanding so I missed a lot of the details and nuances of the show. I should stream it and rewatch it sometime. With spring now here my attention shifts to golf, baseball, gardening, and travel. I love to travel and I am learning to love to golf. Maybe next winter I will revisit these shows. Thanks.
  5. Breaking out your Latin? Nice work vir atramentarius (man of ink).
  6. I don't see a positive to playing him on the 3rd pair, especially if they cut his minutes. All this does is make him think about leaving and make him worth less in trade. But these are the Buffalo Sabres. Donkey on the first pair, he has really earned that too. (heavy sigh)
  7. Negative media attention is one thing. Keep it coming if you want to see change. A fan walk out would be powerful. It could never be organized, too many people would not do it, but imagine if a full house of fans for the last home game all just walked out immediately after the national anthems. Imagine the impact of seeing that and playing the game with no one there. It would hurt the players but also send a powerful message to Terry. Like Gandhi, the Sabres fans could start positive change with peaceful resistance.
  8. Adams record as GM would be much better if he addressed goalie first. He did the opposite and let Ullmark go. He acquired Devon Levi and thought he had the second coming of Hasek, but right out of college. Adams record would be better if he realized that players want to win right now, the "no blockers" thing was a fire-able offense. Case in point - "I always tell people if you can figure out a way to win in Buffalo, it's a pretty damn good place to play," Montour said. "You see the Bills and the passion they have there. Sabres fans are just waiting for a season or something to turn there." Yes, thank you Montour. The problem is not the City of Buffalo, its not the snow and cold, its not the small town night life, it not a lack of palm trees, not higher NYS taxes - it is that the ownership has no clue on how to run a hockey organization.
  9. He is the Assistant GM in Buffalo AND he is the GM in Rochester. He should spend some time in both cities. These are higher lever management jobs in the Sabres organization. Collaboration is critical. The hockey organization under Pegula is broken, which has been true since he fired Regier.
  10. The Bills and Sabres could both be successful if he lets the hockey guy run it as Beane does the Bills. But Terry is a hockey guy and his GM doesn’t need any other execs and consultants. Meanwhile Florida GM Bill Zito made sure his exec consultant got his name on the Cup - that would be Rick Dudley who lives in WNY. Oh, and Peterka being the favorite was pretty creepy.
  11. The team’s performance leaves the door open for firing. I got the feeling Kevyn is not going anywhere. Sounds like he is complying with the boss.
  12. If not you hurt his development. He aspires to more than 4th line.
  13. Watch it. Lance and Sabres talk starts at approx 16 minute mark, when Lance leaves (approx 40 minute mark) Marek talks about the team for a little longer. What’s disheartening is it sounds hopeless.
  14. I’m proud of Lance for going on Jeff Marek and providing the insight that he did. Marek has known the Sabres in good times. He knows what’s going on in Buffalo and the fans are getting fu@ked. He mentioned the fans several times. I feel more disheartened now than ever before regarding this teams future. At least I had the first 40 years.
  15. We don't really know that. We do know that Lindy has them playing worse than Granato did. Most of the young players have regressed. What did Lindy do, help rebuild the do nothing 4th line? There were many other veteran coaches to be interviewed that were just as relevant Lindy. Another case of hiring who he knows and likes and can control. Terry is the root of it all.
  16. It makes me feel more than ever that this team will never get better because Terry is going to run it his way. No veteran GMs will work for him if he has such control and so many guidelines on how to run the team. So much for hire the best, then empower and support them. That is too easy. I doubt I will purchase another Sabres ticket, lets see what the off-season brings. And BTW, once the players hear this interview you can bet they will be wanting out too.
  17. Then Dahlin should get an academy award for best Acting by a bilingual hockey player He definitely talked to Adams, he is definitely unhappy with losing, in his rebuttal he said he never said “leave”. But he said a lot other things. I was really pissed last game and it’s going to continue.
  18. Why do you think he Ruff is the future POHO? Will he leapfrog Adams to this position?
  19. Maybe not in this organization. But successful organizations realize they have to take care of all stakeholders, especially fans that pay the salaries.
  20. I know you have not been a fan. He has very little around him, sure wish he could be more like Bobby Orr and dominate, but he is not that generational level of great. Sorry, he just isn’t.
  21. IDK. He seemed to like his teammates and was popular. Maybe 57 games is not sufficient time to make him a core player and pay him ?
  22. Ask the national media in the USA and Canada and the answers will be fan base. The older era players remember the fans and understand they deserve better. Especially the ones that remember the Aud, which was a hard road game for any team since day 1. We had one great owner that cared about the team, picked out the beautiful Uni’s, hired the best front office that he could, hired the best PR and announcers that he could, fixed up the venue the best he could, and created a hockey experience and tradition that captivated fans in WNY and Southern Ontario. One great owner is responsible for this team to still be clinging to its existence. Terry knows this, but he fails to follow that blueprint.
  23. True. Trade and retain is better overall. Donkey is a light weight player. Tage is fighting which no wants to see, and Benson is fighting, and our big stay at home defender is taking tickets in the crowd. If he played defense like Bill Hajt (a guy that didn’t fight but still played physical, smart, and strong) I wouldn’t care as much but he doesn’t. In today’s league you don’t have to fight, you just have to get involved and support the guys on the ice. Tuch isn’t a fighter but he took on Rasmussen (6’6” 225 lbs) after he blew up Bryson. Tuch also fought a Tkachuk. The guy is always for his teammates. He remembers the team meetings after the Tage incident. Donkey is still not getting it and never will.
  24. Kane was available at the height of “no blockers”. When every Adams draft choice was a future all Star.
