  1. I think it’s because that’s all we had until last season. Now we have a solid core, emerging young players, and prospects. I have been saying playoffs or bust since the last season ended. It’s time. It’s past time actually.
  2. Is Poltapov still in the mix further down the road?
  3. I thought he was just taking a break during the off season. ?
  4. Goaltending: 1. No 2. Comrie 3. Yes 4. No Defense: 1. Clifton 2. 8D 3. Bryson will probably beat Clague for 8 4. They will go with who works best regardless of handedness Forwards: 1. Greenway - 3rd line if he gets in shape and plays hard, Mitts - 2nd line winger with Quinn out, Krebs - 3C with Mitts moved up, VO - probably 3rd line if he put it all together 2. carry 13 forwards because Rochester has players that do not have to clear waivers 3. Rousek - should be 13th forward with Quinn out, Kulich could be 13th forward or maybe higher, Benson to WHL, Savoie injured and then TBD, Rosen goes back to Rochester
  5. Kojak is not Kozak, but the hat is nice.
  6. Over 50, and 60, and now 65. LOL !! Here he is wearing 23 and entertaining us in The Aud.
  7. Quinn out, Savioe out, maybe more to come. Kozak could make the team as a bottom 6/spare part but that is more likely a down the road guy. Rousek, Biro, and Murray could get a shot first.
  8. Another character from the 70's. Not a natural fighter but he took boxing lessons to help bring more "punch" to the team. Eddie Shack, an even bigger character, was #23 before The Hawk, although Rene Robert (traded Shack to get him) very briefly wore Shack's 23.
  9. I am surprised you say that given Kulich's season in Rochester at 18. Do you mean better right now, or projected?
  10. VP selection is very often decided by factors other than who is the “best qualified candidate” and often it is to appeal to a certain group of voters that might not otherwise be drawn to the ticket. I recently learned how and why Roosevelt picked Harry Truman, a person he never knew, to be his last VP running mate, even though he had a VP from prior terms. And of course, as I looked deeper into it, I find there are several interpretations of this story.
  11. Why think the worst? Because they fired him for it. From the limited info in the news article apparently more people did not like it. I coached sports for many years, managed people for many decades - never felt I needed pictures of their friends and family to get to know them. Talking to them in an open and honest manner - yes. Setting rules and standards - yes. Looking at pictures of their spouse and kids is not a need, and it comes well after the relationship is established. Then again, I keep learning how are different things are today.
  12. He wanted to see pictures from their phones? Is that creepy or what? Boundaries?
  13. Bills and Allen looked like a different team this week. The preseason rust is knocked off. I just hope they keep it going and peak at the right time.
  14. Does anyone have an updated height and weight for Rosen and Kulich? It was asked before, how did we get Fleming? edit: Fleming is 18, undrafted, from Quebec. Invited to camp to fill a spot.
  15. Fun to watch this. Some good looking prospects at F and D imo. Sabres draft and develop strategy is progressing.
  16. I knew a guy with this problem. He threw up every time. John, didn’t you listen to Zeppelin and Deep Purple? It’s not metal, but some of their music was foundational to what became metal.
  17. This is really great work, thanks for your time on this. Reading the whole post, including your thoughts/opinions, helped me a lot.
  18. I believe that 16 more pounds gets him up over 190 lbs. I have seen him listed at 5’11” and at 6’. He is a good sized winger and he looked pretty strong last year too. At 19 he is developing physically and really putting in the work. He might be one of those guys that breaks through quickly even though Buffalo has a logjam of prospects at forward.
  19. Not when you read his two responses. First he is virtue signaling that you cannot assume that someone is (or is not) being a jerk behind the scenes. Next he posts a cloddish comment about Kim. But he did it in a way that he perceives as humorous and harmless, so that makes it ok? His comment on Kim does not offend me, I get his attempt at humor, but would her close friends and family feel the same way? It points out how easily our words can get us in trouble in the 2020's. We don't know what Pegula said, how he said it, or even if he said anything. We don't know what Trotter is about as a professional working for NFL media, we don't know his relationships, or how his performance on the job is perceived. But here we go, taking sides on all the "what if's" scenarios.
  20. I expect choice number two, not sure we will see it, but that is the expectation.
