  1. I was in a Bills Backers Sports Bar watching the Bills win, then the Bengal win. Grown men were crying with joy.
  2. In true contrarian fashion. The ADA law is a good one and effects certain businesses. Certainly all new buildings do accommodate wheelchairs. Unfortunately, not every building, bar, restaurant, and honky tonk can add a bathroom with wheel chair access without significant cost impacts. The place I went to yesterday was built ~200 years ago, in the 1800s, and is still operating as a Bar/Restaurant. The men's room is on the main floor (the whole bar is one level) but cannot accommodate wheel chair access. It is small, and stinky, and barely has room for one urinal, one toilet, and a sink. Only 2 people can get in and out at the same time, there is always a line. The ladies room is next to it and has the same problem, but just 1 seat and a sink. The walls are originally stone, the floor is vintage wood, converting it to a bar in the 1920's was one thing but there is no place to expand the building to today's standards without compromising it. Preservationists in this part of town are strict on what you can do to these buildings. Some things cannot and should not be changed. Not saying this is the case at the bar in Erie, I? do not know the situation, but not every business can afford to make that investment. Do you close down these small businesses because of it? I say no to that.
  3. Really? Your third post and you are taking us down the "we broke the drought because of Cincinnati rabbit hole"? Let not forgot the Sabres need to pretty much run the table, and if they do they would certainly deserve to make the playoffs. It won't be because a random team beat a team currently in front of us. You get the points that you earn.
  4. Lindy has Taylor on his staff now (former Rochester HC).
  5. The first line did look better with Mitts than with Tage. He must be really hurting. Tage had an assist on the first goal, the only lead we had. He may have been fine to start the game and then regressed. Certainly by the 3rd he was really ineffective. No need to blame the coach or the player - this happens, you want the players that want to play.
  6. Play Levi. Play Tage if he can go. Try to win. They are not eliminated. Fight to the end!
  7. Except we have another stadium project in OP, with limited uses, that impacts the tax payers in the county - while other cities build downtown stadiums, and the revenues they generate boost the downtown city. Not everyone is completely happy with the result. The difference in Buffalo is that The Bills Organization is happy, so be it.
  8. Who are assistants with NHL pedigree? Are they former assistants with other NHL teams, or former players. Our assistants meet these criteria. Why did Lindy never want top assistants? Odd comment. Why are Matt Ellis, and Dan Girardi for that matter, bad assistant coaches? Be specific? Are Michael Peca and Matt Weber, both in Rochester, bad too? It looks to me like our players in Rochester come to the Sabres ready to play. Why would Ellis be worse than Peca/ Weber? Is it because everyone here makes fun of Ellis because he was a 4th line player. Some of the best coaches in the NHL could not ever make that level and sniff the NHL. I agree the PK stinks - and yes that could be coaching, or players, or both The defensive system is 100% on Granato. The team plays his system, his way. No assistant is going to change that. Strength Training- Do you seriously think the Sabres don’t work with players diet and strength training? They have an 11 person “performance department” that does that and much more.
  9. Detroit always plays us tough. Expecting this one to be a battle.
  10. Savoie is like a man against boys in the WHL.
  11. Your reading comprehension is not good. I never said they will roster 3 goalies I never said anything related to him failing or getting injured I did say If they decide Levi is not ready to be the #1 they will likely bring in someone else. If it is decided that Levi is the #1 they won’t burn assets on a backup - either UPL to Comrie will be the #2
  12. If Levi is indeed deemed ready for the NHL, then Adams is not giving up assets for a backup goalie. Comrie or UPL will be the back up. One will be kept and one will be traded. Comrie has already been a decent #2. UPL, while less consistent, has more upside IMO. Now, if Levi comes to earth and it is decided that he start the year on Rochester, which I doubt, then you might see a goalie coming in by trade.
  13. We were short handed at that time. The Panthers first penalty was with 52 seconds left, the next one was with 23 seconds left.
  14. Me either. I can see one significant trade at the most. The more physical play will most likely come from the players we have getting stronger and playing more physical - it will take a few years. But it does really amaze me at how little our forwards will body check, especially when on the forecheck. Meanwhile, our defense gets hit at every opportunity by their opponents.
  15. So you assume VO is traded. Okposo retires, and Zemgus is TBD. We definitely need a dose of physical play. Imagine a power forward (like Tuch) added to line 2? Another bottom 6 player that plays a strong two way game and PK? Another big and strong top 4 defenseman? Maybe hockey trades will be made? Adams is saturated with very good prospects. A good problem to have.
  16. The 0-8 stretch was all about injuries on defense and no depth. Think about this: Lets say for next years roster of 23 players they lose only Anderson (age 41) and Okposo (age 34), and they replace them with Levi (age 21) and Savoie (age 19). That is 35 less years for those two roster spots. Bring back all the remaining 21 players, all one year older. The total age of the 23 man roster is going to be 14 years less next year; the team's average age will actually go down by 0.6 years. There will be other moves, and maybe some more experienced players get added. But next year we could be just as young as this year when calculated by average age, but with more NHL game experience.
  17. Coming into a tense patch of posts here fellas. Lets take it back to Levi. All I can say is that it is only two games but he is really surprising me with the overall polish in his game already, his cat-like quickness, and with his mental preparation and approach to the game. Wow! I was thinking he starts the next year in Rochester to get a bunch of games in. Now I seriously doubt that happens.
  18. My brother in law has spent a lot of time in Russia for work. He has some stories. It’s a sketchy place, people die like in this story all the time. It’s dangerous there with lots of corruption and bad people working within the local governments and police. Putin could have nothing to do with this.
  19. Levi is up to the task, he was excellent. The ironic part of yesterday’s game was Lyon, who was actually better. Third string goalie has now won 4 in a row. Levi might be playing for Florida right now if that trade was never made. Glad we got him. We need to move on and try to win the rest. Tall order but they must battle the whole way.
  20. They lost a hard fought game. Don’t give me the “too much pressure and they come up small” baloney. This team is way too young to label. They are on the rise but still kids by NHL standards.
  21. Terrible take. It was a 2-1 road game loss to last year’s President’s Trophy winners. We played hard.
  22. I’m disappointed. Levi is the bright light of the game. He looks like our best goalie already. Not enough offense tonight. Tage was playing but is clearly not right still. Mitts with the first line wingers, and Tage with the 4th line wingers was our best options late in the game. I wish we knew that in the second period. Still mathematically alive, but that’s it. I’ll keep watching as usual.
