  1. The Stars are camping out in front of the net. Three deflection tip ins. One called back.
  2. Spooner (top left) and Doohickie (top right), of the Muscle Schoals Swampers - preparing for a recording session.
  3. Tage should have shot. That pass had no chance. Clifton looked hooked to me. Replay that
  4. Look like the Stars are going to camp out in front of UPL tonight.
  5. Good evening Teammates, Punch checking in late today. Tie game right now. Muscle Weight.
  6. I would like to see them beat a very good team on the road tonight. No “pressure” of the home crowd - I can’t believe that’s a thing but apparently it is for these boys. Entertain me, and show the fan base that you care.
  7. You missed my point. Terry thinks he is on par with the younger guys that he hires. He would be concerned an old vet like Trotz would blow him off. And none of his GMs, Murray, Botrill and especially Adams , were longtime AGMs. Even the “well respected “ part had limitations on their experience. These guys were all hired on the young side and were considered to be bright and capable, but GM is a stretch assignment for all of them. Maybe a far stretch.
  8. Terry does not hire old guys that know more than him. Adam’s, Bots, Murray all first timers and young.
  9. It is both. Coaches can effect it to a large extent but they can only do so much and that is when the internal leadership from the players has to kick in. Do you think Drury or Briere would allow the group to be consistently sleep walking through the first 10 minutes of the first period? Leadership is lacking if they are consistently not ready to play. Coaches and players are both part of the problem. CULTURE
  10. It looked to me that Mitts was the one center that could work with anyone. Can we stop trading 25 year old players just entering their prime? Meanwhile we have 21 year old Byram who is very similar to Power - still in his early development phase - he is a talent but not a savvy veteran defender that could help stabilize things. Byram might turn out to be very good, but the trade created a big hole for now that needs to be addressed, and we added a player that is very much like several others we already have. Diversity of skills is not something that Adams seems to be unaware of, or is just not too concerned with.
  11. Figuring out how to use Skinner is a key because he probably is not going anywhere. You missed Samuelsson. If he is there and R Johnson is in the rotation it makes Joker expendable. We still need a big solid defensive defenseman in the top 4, I don't see that being Byram but that is who Adams brought in. His contract will be of huge importance. At forward the hole left by Mitts is massive. Cozens simply has to step up next year. I will bet that they are counting on Cozens, Krebs and a prospect to emerge. I prefer they bring in at least one solid veteran C. At wing they need a power forward and some muscle on the 3rd and 4th line. They are close. Some of the young players will improve. Another key is if Levi can play effectively as a backup and play 30 games at a high level. If he can, we should be good at goalie for a change.
  12. Normally I would not take this to seriously but you see it when you watch him. He stopped all the energy and the on ice banter. He rotates in and out, plays a soft style of defense, and stopped creating chances. He has become like Joker but with a ring and a higher pedigree. I am gonna be really interested in what Adams offers to pay this guy over the veteran 2C that he discarded. Cant wait to see what 2C he brings in because Cozens is looking like a 3C and Krebs is not the guy right now.
  13. You have brought up Parayko before. I like the player but he is not worth nearly what you propose. Joker or Mule and #2 pick is even trade for Parayko today.
  14. Yes. I think 8 players in total need to be upgraded. Luckily many are bottom 6 so not too hard to do that part of it. I wish we had a grown man on defense somewhere. Give me Clifton’s jam in a heavy weight body and include hockey brains and winning pedigree. That is why I ponder the Mitts for Byram trade. He is not that guy. Maybe he is better than I see? But we need the guy I describe in the top 4. Mule isn’t physical enough and he gets hurt a lot - I hope he could be that guy. Replacing Mitts is a priority.
  15. If that is the plan then interview Ruff, Gallant, Berube and at least one highly regarded up and coming guy. Make this the job coaches want. Have real criteria in place BEFORE the interviews start. Evaluate based on the criteria , then pick a coach. Support the coach and give him freedom to go his way, and take his inputs into the roster. In other words, run a professional organization.
  16. They lost a lot of games in the first period. They fall behind and then they press. The other team can play a simpler game if they lead by 2 goals after 1 period. You are a good stat guy. Look it up. How many winning teams consistently lose the first period? Maybe they got better after the first admission because they woke up. I doubt the coaches did anything, what was the adjustment? Stop passing to the guys in Red? Take more shots? They didn’t score after the first.
