Agree Taro. This is an opportunity for the NHL to police the game and suspend a superstar for a game. I keep seeing on TV News that no one is above the law, I guess they still are in the NHL. Now, if Florida decides to police this themselves it could get a bit crazy out there. Florida has some muscle of their own.

You guys agree on this one. So do I. I like Girgs, he has been a good soldier for a long time, but it is time to move on from him. I do expect he will be a good 4th line role player for a good team, but he has not been anything special for us.

Agree. He role may be less impactful with the title change "assistant" GM, which could actually be "assistant to the GM" Karmonos is higher in the chain as Associate GM.

True that it’s another missed opportunity. Adams can only move forward and take advantage of it. Its salary space for another good player.

More room to improve the roster.

I get it. I only listen to it when driving, which is rarely these days. Otherwise I can stream it and watch it anywhere. But you get good chops by doing radio and talking the details. Dan will never have that, so he better get better at the rest of it.

I love the Harbor Center and the entire concept, and especially the business it brings to downtown. The spin-off in jobs and the outside money coming in has been great for Buffalo. The Harbor Center does help keep Buffalo on the hockey map. If anything, it can be expanded. I seriously doubt that he planned to make Buffalo a place to develop players and purposely neglect the NHL team, even though it looks like that at times. I grew up in the city. Downtown was pretty sad in the 60's and up until recent years. Harbor Center and Canal side are Pegula's work and downtown is cleaner and safer than ever before in my lifetime. So, while Pegula is the worst owner in NHL history by record, he has had some very positive impacts to the city. His record with the Bills is also quite good and the tiny market of Buffalo is thriving in the NFL.

True that RJ will not be matched, and no one is going to come in and copy him. His hysterics were not for everyone but they became legendary, and his knowledge of the game was right up there. But just get someone that keeps up with the play, knows how to communicate puck position, knows the player names on both teams, gets more excited for our team than the opponent, and knows how to make a great call on a big play.

i actually believe the glass is half full. The roster is very correctable. The talent pipeline is very good too. The team just needs the right leadership on top. The problem has been Terry’s choices for who that is. Winning will fix the in game experience. Buffalo is less about the piped in noise and distractions and more about the on ice hockey. (It was a generation ago anyway).

Well, we had Peca in Rochester working for Appert. He was down there for the year that Quinn/JJP were down there. Unfortunately, Laviolette liked Peca enough to give him a shot as an NHL assistant, something that Granato did not do.

Unfortunately this has been true for way too long. This has gone deep into Ooooovertime.

This board is a place to share my opinions and thoughts and even to vent a bit. I try to be fair about it. I would be happy to share my thoughts on how this team is run directly with Kevyn Adams and Terry Pegula. They are men deserving of respect and I could do it in the respectful way. But my message would be critical one that sticks to past performance as measured by this teams record on the ice and in the box office. There is a reason players don't want to be traded to Buffalo, and it is not the city or the weather. I won't get that opportunity. Since I will be spending most of my summer in Buffalo, I will get to see a few past employees and alumni and venting to them will not help. That is just being a pain and they all feel the same way anyway. Everyone wants to see this teams fortunes change. Lindy is carrying a big load.

Yeah, imagine that, the Amerks fans here actually wanting to win games. What nerve of them. 🙄 My personal opinion is that this is a good hire. The AHL is the right place to give bright coaching prospects a shot. As long as Leone can coach a system that works with what Ruff uses there is not a problem to me.

I am tired of the "don't want to spend the money bullcrap" with this team. We once had great TV and Radio coverage back when everybody, in every job within the organization, made way less money. If money is the reason then get guys that can do justice to both TV and radio. I am tired of settling for whatever we get with this team. Bigger than that, I am tired of the lower standards that have become a part of our world today.

I think DD is terrible at PBP. He gives us no sense of puck position. He doesn’t consistently say who has the puck and where. He is late to the action. In other words, he barely does the job. I have ESPN+ so I can listen to other teams broadcasts. Dan is less than mediocre. We should expect more given the rich broadcasting and PBP history of the franchise.

Way back when I was not at all sad to see Turgeon traded. Why? Even though he could put up points but I did not like his game and he seemed to disappear in the playoffs. I was happy to see him traded for LaFontaine who was both skilled and plucky. You have been on record for a long time as questioning Dahlin's ability to be great. Trade Dahlin? We could maybe get a great 1C and a few other good players and hope for Power and Byram to full the void. I know you have never really cared for Dahlin but what is it about his game that is bothering you?

Interesting take. I would be surprised if Krebs alone brings in a pleasant surprise, I want you to be right on this. I still see him as a guy that gets packaged in a trade.

I think you missed my point. Talking about prospect value is certainly fine. My point is trying to figure out what each minor league or junior league prospect is worth singularly is kind of a waste of time because we won't get a proven NHL player from trading just Rosen, or just Kulich. I think the road ahead is probably more likely to require packaging a combination of player/prospect/pick for top NHL talent. Like when we traded Eichel and Reinhart and we got multiple pieces back. This time we trade trade multiple pieces for a known NHL commodity.

They need to bring in players that make an immediate impact and they need to do it now. What each prospect is worth individually is not the most important factor. The Sabres have a lot of prospects and the longer they keep them the more the other teams can scout them, often diminishing their value from the position they were drafted at. Adams should be packaging players, prospects, and picks for proven NHL players with tire on the tread. They have been doing the opposite long enough. If they have to theoretically "overpay" so what, all of these forward prospects cannot be on the team at one time anyway.

Well you should expect it because at least 2 will be around next season. Now if the Sabres do make some big trades this off season then then I could see one of them going.
